On second watch I feel better about the D. But Speight was really off. Two fumbled exchanges and his accuracy was off. Hope it improves in the by week

I didn't get to keep my eyes on the game yesterday but read about all the doom and gloom during and afterward. Watching now, we just need to clean up the mistakes.

Johnson stays out of the way of that punt, perhaps we go down and score again, it's 21-0.

Instead, UC gets a short field. Hill doesn't get that kinda bullshit PI call on that drive and it's 14-3.

Then, after DPJ's jet sweep we're on the 3 when Speight mishandles the handoff and we settle for a FG. Could be 21-7 or 21-3.

We were driving effectively again before the fumble on Crawford jet sweep. With Nordin's leg, that's at least another 3 points.

Black runs a 12-yard route instead of 11, there's opportunity for more points there.

So yeah we were sluggish and the OL is still coming along, but the halftime score could have easily been 24-3 or 27-7.

I think this is a CLASSIC case of playing down to your competition. Not good, but it happens in a sort of trap-py way following a big game like Florida in Dallas.

I don't believe they exist in this context, particularly with this staff. They coach in the moment and expectations are such there is no "letdown" or "trap". The coaches treat the upcoming week as championship week.
Maybe some players there could have a less than championship preparation or mindset, this staff doesn't allow it- I'm positing most staffs don't allow it.

It's a nice thing for fans to cite for a team's performance.

Always look on the bright side of life!
  • Ty Isaac has rushed for over 100 yards in consecutive games.
  • Michigan is averaging over 34 points a game this season.
  • Michigan has over 400 yards of total offense in each of its first two games.
  • Michigan’s offensive line allowed only one sack against Cincinnati.
  • Michigan has two "pick-sixes" in each of its last two home-opening games.
  • Michigan’s total of three “pick-sixes” this season matches its total “pick-sixes” for all of last season, and the third “pick-six” last season didn’t occur until the 13th and final game after Michigan had its first two "pick-sixes" in its home opener. (Channing Stribling and Delano Hill had them last season. Tyree Kinnel and LaVert Hill had them this season.)
  • Besides LaVert Hill and Delano Hill, have any other brothers scored on interception returns in Michigan football history?
  • Brandon Watson has broken up passes in consecutive games.
  • Each of Michigan’s first two opponents has been held to no more than 200 yards of total offense.
  • Although fans at the Big House didn’t have a “McDooooooooom” moment yesterday, we know that it’s coming.

Apologies; you're coirrect. I should've said three defensive TDs.

Josh Metellus's return of a blocked PAT in the bowl game resulted in only two points.

Chase Winovich's "sack strip" and Noah Furbush's resulting fumble recovery for a TD in the Florida game was the first defensive TD for this season.
