229 yards passing, 2 TD passes, 79 yards rushing, 2 TD runs.

Norco 30

Corona 19

Norco H.S., is 6-1 and now ranked 12th in the Southern California High School Football Rankings.

I can't embedd the video links of Victor Viramontes highlights.

Game wrap up:  http://www.pe.com/articles/viramontes-783732-norco-corona.html

With Norco clinging to a slim four-point lead and time winding down, the Cougars decided to put the game on the shoulders of quarterback Victor Viramontes.

As usual, the dual-threat senior delivered.

Viramontes ran for two touchdowns and passed for two more, and most importantly guided a clutch 91-yard drive in the fourth quarter to secure Norco's 30-19 victory over Corona on Friday night.

“At that point it was ‘Let him do his thing,’” Cougars coach Chuck Chastain said. “Stop guessing, put the ball in your best athlete's hands and let him go.”

I'm really excited for him. I don't know if he'll ever end up at QB with Peters, but Vic is definitely a playmaker. "Stop guessing, put the ball in your best athlete's hands and let him go." Sounds like exactly someone we need.

Reading your post brought a much needed smile on my face.  Viramontes is my favorite recruit.  Can't wait to see him wearing a winged helmet.

Very athletic QB. Reminds me of Hill from BYU. Give him the chance to compete at QB, because this kid is a special athlete.

Love this highlight reel for two reasons: Vic and the fact that the long TD was thrown to my nephew, #9, Justin Moore. And yes, Norco is a horse town to the point that the buttons you press to change the traffic signals are tall enough to push while on horseback.

That was the case before this season started, but I wonder what he'll be thinking if at the end of his season he's getting offers from other Power 5 schools guaranteeing him a QB spot with no talk of moving him to some other position where he'll have less contact with the football.

In other words, quarterback is the single most prominent position on any football team, and will Vic be willing to pass up the opportunity to be The Man at some other school for an opportunity to get his head beat in at LB or H-back at Michigan? If he is, he's an unusual guy.

I haven't heard any talk from Harbaugh and Co. from moving him to LB or H-back.

That seems to be nothing more than internet speculation from fans, who assume that Peters will be the QB of the future based on 'crootin rankings.

I havent heard anything that makes me believe that Harbaugh is planning to give Vic any less of an opportunity to compete at QB than any other QB on the roster.

Similar size too, maybe 10 lbs smaller, which can be easily fixed. Gerhart ran a 4.5 40, Viramontes is supposedly 4.58, but more likely 4.6-4.7.

Gerhart was a FB coming out of Norco and ended up at Stanford.

Most competitive leagues in So Cal. I've seen him play 2 times this year and as much as I like him at QB I think he would be a monster at LB or TE. He didn't have any huge offers or many before Michigan offered. The other QB that is awesome is the Rancho Cucamonga QB and he to doesn't have much as offers and his league is a monster league. I'm sure some other programs will be sniffing around for Vic in the next month or so. He works out in Corona at the Winners Circle 3-4 times a week.
