UM MBB now #3 per Sagarin
So... Other than that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?
Jeff Sagarin has UM MBB at #3 in his rankings through yesterday's results: https://www.usatoday.com/sports/ncaab/sagarin/

We are poised to make a historical jump in the rankings. Pretty sure no team has gone from unranked to top 10 (maybe top 5) after the first week.
Let's talk basketball today ok? Much happier subject.

If you want to hear a good analysis about the historical situation and just how good UM is right now CBS’s college bball podcast, Eye on College Basketball podcast is good.

We’d be the second team ever to make a top 5 leap from unranked in the AP poll era.

I think UConn also jumped from unranked to #7 most recently in 2010-2011.
I don't think we will be top five, too many voters will be slow to react and probably end up with us around 8-15. Hopefully we can keep the hot streak going and upset Louisville. Rankings are meaningless, so what really matters is that we went from being on bubble watch before the season to now having a NC resume worthy of a top four seed.

Michigan lands a spot in the AP's top 10, the Wolverines would be the sixth team since the AP poll expanded to 25 teams in 1989-90 to go from unranked one week to the top 10 the next. The previous instance was 2010-11 UConn, which jumped to No. 7 after winning the Maui Invitational. That team went on to win the national championship. Michigan might join 1989-90 Kansas as the only team to jump from unranked to the top five since the poll expanded.
From ESPN. So UCONN made similarly timed leap.

That's impressive. I don't know what to expect from this season, but I wasn't expecting this.

Kemba's UCONN team went from unranked to I wanna say 7th after one of these tournaments....Maui maybe. Hoping for a similar end result!

Ohio State is #4.
So does this mean we're paying players like they do?

KenPom puts us at 10 right now, which is probably where we'll be ranked on the next poll.
