I hope you don't mind if I ask this, but what the hell does this post even mean in the context of the OP's question?
I mean, I realize a lot of people create accounts after losses like this just to say nonsensical things, but you're taking it down an interesting road here.

I don't get how Michigan would drop below UW or PSU. UM beat both - obliterating PSU. But the one hope for the CFP was PSU losing to MSU today. That would have allowed OSU to beat UW, probably, maybe, putting both OSU and UM in the playoff had Washington or Clemson lost. Alas, that won't happen, either.
Fuck this day to fucking hell.

UM's only chance at the CFP, and its a very small chance, is if PSU barely defeats UW and Washington loses to Colorado. Then the CFP may decide to put OSU and UM in the CFP b/c OSU has only 1 loss, and UM crushed PSU. Highly unlikely. An 11-2 PSU likely jumps a 10-2 UM because PSU has that conference championship under it's belt.

that would be 3 B1G teams. No way that happens.

Alabama will be #1. OSU #2, Clemson #3, and Washington #4 in Tuesday's CFP. UM will be #5. UM is clearly the best two-loss team in the country. Wisc and PSU wont pass UM...yet.
The problem is the B1G championship game. if Wisc defeats PSU, Wisc will finish 11-2, vs UM 10-2. Despite UM defeating UW, an 11-2 team with a conference championship under it's belt will pass UM.
UM has only one small chance of making the CFP: If PSU barely defeats UW, and Washington loses in the P12 championship, the CFP may put OSU and UM into the CFP. The reasoning would be that UM crushed PSU, and has more wins vs top 25 CFP teams than PSU. Its a long shot, but the only shot.
Personally, I would prefer PSU crushes UW, Washington wins, and OSU is stuck with the Rose bowl vs USC, who could definitely defeat OSU. UM gets the Orange bowl, is a 2-TD favorite vs whomever they play in the Orange bowl, finishes the season 11-2 with a top 4 finish. I really dont want to watch OSU in the CFP. No thanks.

The 3rd and 4th best teams in the Big Ten are playing in the conference championship game. Whichever team wins that game will still only be the 3rd best team in the conference.

The committee has OSU at #2 for a reason; they only strengthened that position with a win over #3 (at home) (in 2OT) (needing significant judicial intervention) (I'm not so much upset over the 4th down spot, although HE DIDNT make it, as much as I am over the non-PI call on our 3d down play). There is no, no, no way that the Committee thinks a Wisconsin/PSU win over the other will vault them up ahead of OSU. JUST NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
The whole "but... but... but... conference champs!" thing is overblown. That's only a factor if the Committee thinks two teams are "about equal." UW(YTUW) or PSU is not going to be the "equal" of OSU -- especially not the Badgers, who lost at home to OSU. PSU of course has the head-to-head win, BUT... a crappy out of conference schedule where they lost the only team with a pulse (Pitt at 8-4 might get ranked now, though), and PSU avoided tough teams in the crossover games.
Assuming the favorites win out, the Committee is going to do this:
1 - Bama
2 - OSU
3 - Clemson/UW(NTUW)
4 - UW/Clemson(NTUW)
VaTech or Colorado hold the keys to the UW(YTUW) / PSU winner. If the Hokies or Buffs win, that opens the "swim lane" to the B1G champ. Otherwise, the B1G champ will be in the Rose, and we'll be Miami for the Orange Bowl.
So, uh, has basketball season started?

OSU is this year's 2015 MSU team. They're a good-not-great team that the conference pushed right along into where they are right now. Hopefully their final game brings similar results.
Go Tigers/Huskies/Tide/Whoever will get the pleasure of putting the Buckeyes in the trash where they belong.
