Tiger/Lions - Lions Playing GB and J. Ryan

Submitted by xtramelanin on

Mates,

For us long-suffering Tiger and Lions fans, it's a feast of frustration day.  Tigers already down 2-0 to KC in the 1st inning.  Lions down 7-3 to Green Bay.  Green Bay is starting one of our favorite alumni, Jake Ryan, at MLB.

2 Questions:

1.  Can/will the Tigers make the playoffs?   They are so prone to taking 2 steps forward, and 2 1/4 steps back, they are tough to watch.

2. The Lions have found new ways to lose games, last week being a great example.  What makes it worse is that they'd won the week before vs. Indy, despite collapsing at the end and having lost that same type of game for 50+ straight years - giving us false hope they'd win last week.   So can you even watch the Lions, and will they do anything good this year, or will they look like MgrowOld's Cleveland Browns?

Hope you are enjoying the last of the summer weather - cool and rainy for us Michiganders starting tonight.

I'm sorry but that kickoff rule has to be the worst one I've ever seen. The NFL seriously needs to consider changing that immediately.

Why is it that the Lions always seem to find the part of the rule book that nobody knows? Calvin's TD catch that wasn't a catch and Jim Schwartz challenging a "scoring play" where the runner was obviously down 40 yards from the end zone are two example off the top of my head.

also, not to be a dick at all but how long do they have to wear the WCF patch? Its been a couple years now, right? That patch feels like an embroidered explaination of everything wrong with the franchise.

Pryor is looking pretty impressive in his first season as a WR/ "Offensive Weapon," so far with 4 minutes left in the game:

7 receptions, 135 yards

4 rushes, 21 yards, 1 TD

4 passes, 32 yards
