Ticket/Parking help for Saturday

Submitted by Tate on

Saturday, my Dad and I are making our first trip to Ann Arbor for a game. Him being a Maryland fan, it made sense.

I am purchasing tickets right now and would just like some feedback since I don't really know the layout of the stadium. There are tickets available in section 23, row 19, seats 13+14; these seem like great seats, but I would just like a second opinion before I pull the trigger.

Also, on StubHub there are parking passes available, but they are only receivable by mail so it is too late for that. But I did come across 825 Main Street parking, is this a reliable parking lot if I'm going to buy a pass online? Or should it be easy to just drive and find a spot on gameday?

Thank you guys in advance, MGoBlog is always great help. I also apologize if this isn't thread worthy, I just didn't know where else I could take this.

Those tickets should be pretty good. You'll be right around the 50 yard line on the Michigan sideline.

As for parking, I know not about the 825 Main Street lot, but should you choose to wait until gameday to park, there should be plenty of options.

I think that's Rich's Parking, and right now it is booking at $45 or so for a pass, so yeah, there are definitely cheaper options about, some of them even free as folks below have pointed out. It is supposed to be close to 40 degrees, so even if a walk is involved, hopefully it isn't too bad.

don't pass them up.

Skip the parking pass though, you can park anywhere right across from the Big House (Main St side) at homes for $30, and that is the side you want to be on for those seats.

Have fun.  Hope your Dad is sad at the end.

Here's the seating chart:

Sounds like GREAT seats to me.  Parking isn't too much of an issue this year (sadly).  You can park at the Golf Course (weather permitting) or at Pioneer High School (SW of the stadium).  There are also other lots or yards that can be had for a cheaper price than the University parking.

Dress warmly!

Those are def solid seats, I would pull the trigger on those. As for parking, there should be plenty of options around the stadium. I use to live in an apartment building at 121 East Hoover (which is only a block from the stadium), and they sold parking spots on game days for $30. I always thought that was pretty good deal. But there should be plenty of options like that around the stadium, and even cheaper ones as you go further from the stadium.

As a former Marylander as well, hope you and your dad enjoy the visit!

Take S Main Street to Pauline Blvd right across the street from the stadium.  There are neighborhoods there with free parking on the street curbs.  There will also be people selling parking on their driveways and lawns.

Been parking for free in those neighborhoods for years.  It's only a couple block walk to the stadium and getting out after the game is pretty easy.  Hope this helps and you enjoy your trip!

Just go to google maps and type in pauline boulevard, you'll see what I'm talking about.  Very easy to find.

Park off Main st and Ardmoor. it's free and probably about a mile from the stadium. if you park closer it'll take you hours to get out.

it's Maryland, and we are not that great.  It won't take hours to get out.

Getting out hasn't been a problem for me this year other than that Utah nightmare where everyone left at the same time due to torrential downpours.

That was such a sad game.  Back when we didn't realize how truly bad we were....

I come in off 94 and for me it's the most convenient route.  I always park there and it's the last residential street you can park on for free, the next street up is $20.  It's hilarious to me to see the "EZ Out Parking" signs for $50 that are closer to the stadium but when everyone wants to leave at the same time, you're going nowhere.

Maybe my advise can be used for future reference if anyone is going to games from the west side of the state.

.... Greenview, Marian, Kirtland, and Woodland are closer residential streets off Stadium Blvd. with free street parking.  Granted they fill up faster, but I think you can get closer than Ardmoor.  If you go to the end of Woodland, Kirtland, or Mairan (off of Stadium Blvd.) and park, there is a path down there through Pioneer Woods that dumps you out on Seventh Street next to Pioneer.  Easy walk to stadium from there.  This is a super easy place to leave from - either going out Scio Church Road or Stadium Blvd.

Sadly, this year, this kind of detailed advice is not really needed as nothing has been too crowded.

I'll park your car for you. Just meet me somewhere when you arrive, and I'll drop you off in front of the stadium. After the game I'll bring your car back to you............maybe. 50/50 shot that your car ends up on the news.

free parking on side streets if you get there before 11:00 am.  Relatively easy to get back to metro Detroit via Stadium to 23.

The walkway through Ocker, field hockey , is open so it is a short flat walk.

  • Arrive 2+ hours before kickoff
  • Use the public parking garage by Nickels Arcarde, 324 Maynard Street, $8-10/all day
  • Walk thru Nickels Arcade for a 1 hour pre-game beer(s) at Ashleys, voted one of the Top 100 Beer Bars in America
  • 1 hour before kickoff, walk thru campus down State St and follow the crowds on Hoover to the Stadium. 20-25 minute walk, 1+ miles.  The walk will keep you wam and it's a great way to take in the crowds, pre-game festivities and campus.

It just depends on how much you're willing to pay.

$25 should get you within an easy half mile walk at Colonial Lanes or the old Kroger at Stadium and Industrial..  $40 will get you a lot closer.

(speaking of which, anyone know why that Kroger closed?)

Highly recommend shuttles from Briarwood mall. I park at mall by Sears and visit Mden before game in mall. At least in past you purchase tickets in Kensington Court hotel. has saved me a ton of time on way out after game. Google "the ride Michigan football". I think it is $3 round trip.

Basically you will be in the middle of the field, but low, and remember to dress warm - especially underwear, pants and shoes - reportedly it will be in the 30's to low 40's with a risk of rain/snow. It is a late start so be prepared!

Don't know how much walking you want to do - parking downtown as many have suggested is fun, and you'll always be with a stream of people, plus on the way back you'll be heading back to where the bars/restaurants are located.

Hi!

There really aren't too many bad seats in the house, so if you haven't already, pull the trigger on those.

Generally, it's pretty easy to just drive around and find somplace to park on gameday. There aren't really a lot of "lots" per se near the stadium (save for the golf course or AA Pioneer High School), but there's always people in neighborhoods willing to let you park in their lawn for the right price. Head towards the north end of the stadium, or across State St on the east side. Plan to pay between $30 and $50 for parking if you choose to go this way.

Alternately, the Thompson Street parking structure is usually available, and not overly expensive, nor is it a gargantuan walk to the stadium. If you're a gambling kind of man, hit up the area around the parking structure and look for a metered spot. They're not free, but I've parked there on many a game day and never gotten a ticket.

Good luck, and enjoy the game!

I'd be warry of parking on the street , any street, meter or no meter.  If you do read the signs and have your lawyer along to interpet what it means.

It might be just as easy for someone not familiar with AA to park at the mall at the exit of I94 and the road to the stadium.

If you aren't in a big hurry to get out of town after the game it's worth waiting for the bus back to the mall.  It's a relative short distance.
