Thursday Night Football

Submitted by BornSinner on

Tonight we got Baylor vs KSU at 7:30 on FS1 and the Bengals vs Browns at 8:30 on NFL Network...

Looks like Thursday night NFL games are going back to the NFL Network even tho the matchups are shittier... odd.

It's gonna be fun to see Baylor just plug in another QB and still rack up 60 points on somebody... I guess I'll be rooting for the Wizard and KSU in this one. Screw Briles.

atdhenet.tv is your best friend if you wanna watch the NFL game.

Edit:

Looks like we also have Miss St vs Mizzou on ESPN @ 9 and Buffalo vs Kent St on ESPN3 @ 7

Every press conference nick saban has the AT&T logo behind him and a bottle of Coke on the podium. People would absolutely flip their shit if that happened here and for good reason

Thursday night fantasy football advice: I'm in a league that can play a QB as a flex.  Due to bye weeks, my choices for my flex are Johnny Manziel, Frank Gore, or Rishard Matthews.  Do I go the high variance Johnny Football play, or the safe but unlikely to be spectacular Matthews choice (I don't want Gore against that D).  It's a PPR league, 6 pts per passing TD.

If you have something small like an 8 or even 10 teamer the only way to make the QB position really matter is to start 2 QBs. I actually prefer a Q/W/R/T flex because it lets you start a decent WR or RB instead of a Nick Foles type if your guys are on bye or whatever.

In general, the more flexibility you put in your fantasy lineup settings, the more you are rewarding good management over good luck.

It's really hard to recommend against a starting QB in a 2QB league, especially with 6pt TDs. Cincy has been pretty crappy against the pass this year tbh, 258 ypg, good for 23rd in the league. Matthews targets have varied wildly(10, 3, 6, 3, 12 last 5 weeks).  I honestly think you have a higher floor with Manziel.

But it's a Thursday night game, so Manziel will throw 4 picks, get injured, and leave the game with a negative score.

You know, I hate the Thursday games.
If I rules the world it would be high school Friday (and we would all support our local teams) . Saturday would be college. Sunday NFL. And...
One high school games at 3, one college game at 6 and one pro game at 9 every Monday. Great idea right?

Not much riding on the performance of Johnny tonight.  If we should somehow be blessed with a Thursday night miracle and Johnny plays well we have hope for the future.  If we lose and get drilled while doing so (my personal prediction btw) Johnny will be toast and I'll bet both Pettit AND Farmer get wacked tomorrow.

Hey Johnnyfootball.....no pressure here.  Just do your best man.

Art Briles is just an incredible offensive coach.  I would love to see what he could do at a place like Alabama.

I'm parlaying Cleveland and the under... But I ain't watching that travesty of a match up. I expect pure crap on both sides...
Or cincy just smacks the browns around and I lose 20$...

Well, I will say that 3-4 for 64 yards in the air was not a bad way for Jarrett Stidham to begin his first career start (he even got the honor of scoring Baylor's first TD of the game too), although just under two minutes seems a bit lengthy for a Baylor touchdown drive.

Wifey is sick and I am doing the right thing by letting her pick the television... I am stuck watching some blonde bombshell on HGTV. I know, first world problems.

I've always wondered what their offense would look like with Bama's defense.

But usually these speciality type teams have speciality head coaches who can't recruit well enough on the other side of the ball.

I suppose TAMU is the closest look.

scoring over 40 points against both teams. 1st rounder, Trae Waynes, couldn't cover Antwan Goodley.

This season, Baylor scored over 60 points against WVU who is #8 in defensive FEI. Oklahoma (#6 in defense FEI) is another big test, but they gave up 38 points against Tulsa who runs the same exact offense as Baylor. Baylor has much better players and athletes.
