Things to be thankful for...Harbaugh edition
So...THAT WAS AMAZING. I have had this post brewing for a couple weeks now. And I am curious what your thoughts are on the matter.
What are you thankful for now that we have entered the Harbaugh era? Here are mine:
1) I am thankful that when have a substantial lead going into halftime, I am not worried that we are going to piss it away. For the first couple shut outs, I kept thinking, "Ugh they will come back and we will have another nailbiter." And they never did. Amazing feeling.
2) I am thankful that if the coaches are making a decision that doesn't make sense, I actually have confidence they have something in mind. How often over the last seven years have you found yourself wondering if decisions were made out of desperation, stupidity, or something other than smart coaching. Not anymore. I feel like we can say with confidence now: we trust our coaches.
3) I am thankful that when we are "in it" for top recruits, we are actually in it. So many times in the past, we just knew almost every top rated guy would choose a more glitzy team. Now we are stealing guys from top teams that would probably have never chosen to come here. Great feeling.
4) I am thankful that we no longer have to worry about a coach losing the locker room. Over and over, it seemed like the last few coaches had seriously lost their players' interest and allegiance. Harbaugh is a force of will. AWESOME.
5) I am thankful (and I hope I am correct here) that we did not lost the integrity of Michigan (and the integrity of Brady Hoke, for that matter, as much as we complain about him, he was a great guy), yet we have the potential to become a juggernaut the right way.
What are yours?

I'm thankful for president Schlissel. He was actually at the trophy presentation. I could never see MSC doing this.

Jim Hackett, the fairy godmother of Michigan football.
(He found a pumpkin, and turned it into a magnificent coach.)

I am thankful that I don't have to sift through downtrodden threads, if nothing else - that was a very nice, decisive, "did Florida even know there was a game?" sort of win. Pleased from start to finish.
In terms of Harbaugh, I am simply thankful that - for the first time in a long time - I see the culture of Michigan football re-energized, on the same page, self-improving, relentless...all these great things that will only make the next several years even better than this one, in my own estimation. For the first time in a long time, it feels right somehow.

In regards to your comment about coaches decisions, I was at first very surprised that Harbaugh left Rudock in not realizing that this was his last chance to build up game film for the NFL draft. Most other coaches would have followed standard procedure
I just can't believe the progress that Chesson has made. I don't know if it's coaching, hard work, or pure talent but he is now a bonafide NFL receiver imo.
