I'm trying hard to find justification for keeping this thread unlocked much longer; it may get locked within minutes because of the posts of just a few. I've already shut down one account on this thread and might shut down others. It's not my favorite option but one that you as the MGoUser sometimes force me to consider. I locked 3 accounts last night, all habitual instigators and peddlers of nonsense conspiracies.
That being said, I would also like to thank the large majority on this thread who, though they may disagree with each other, have refrained from personal attacks and posting conspiracy theories.
In an effort to provide transparency as a moderator, I want to add this: I will probably lock it within the next hour even if behavior improves because, nearly 400 posts in, how much more rehashing is needed?
When topics like this come up, can you keep it up as info but lock it right away? To me that would be the best way. Real question

If you're OK with having to wear pants at work, work-at-homers excluded, you should be OK with wearing a mask to help save lives.
If you don’t want to wear a mask, don’t wear one. Just don’t expect any business to welcome you. And honestly, I’d prefer hospitals don’t waste one resource on you and yours if you can’t be bothered to try anything that will help solve this issue. Literally no one has all the answers in this - actual experts in the medical field across the globe. If there are people in this forum that seemingly do, by all means, go save the world.
I want all the anti-mask people to tell the dentist or the doctor to take that off next time they have an appointment since they don't work.

I don't watch CNN because cable news is universally garbage, though not all to the same degree. One thing that's even worse than cable news is getting your news from nutty Facebook groups and eaglefreedompatriot.net (fake website I hope) or whatever weird rag you think offers legitimate information. At this point the efficacy of masks has been subjected to peer-reviewed research many times and the message is very clear. Masks work. COVID-19 is real. COVID-19 is serious.
