Is there going to be a “Blue Out” for the Michigan State game?

I’m seeing a ton of social media suggesting there is going to be a “Blue Out” for the MSU game but I can’t tell if any of it is coming from the football program or Athletic Department. Has anyone seen anything to suggest that this is “official”?  Truth be told, does it matter? I guess the fans can make it happen too.

Ugh, I hope not. The all Maize unis from the 2017 Florida game were just....awful.

I really don't mind the other options that Michigan has rolled with. All blue jerseys, all white road unis, white and maize road unis, traditional maize and blue home unis, all of those look good. But all maize....to me, those just don't look very good, at all.

Right up there with the 2011 MSU "bumblebee" uniforms.

I'm all for a blue out during a night game, especially with maize pom poms! All those pom poms fluttering around will look like twinkle lights on that dark background.

Even if it is official, which I guess it is now, it’s not gonna work. It’s a night game at the end of October. It’s going to be a “whatever color people’s jackets are” out

NJ, at this time, the overnight low temperature is projected at 38 degrees.  That overnight low usually is reached between 4 and 6 am.   So, at "game end" time, my guess is - the air temp could be at 40 degrees, maybe as high as 42.   The forecast high for Saturday is 53 degrees - which is pretty good for late October.

As others will point out - dressing in layers is what it's all about.

I do think having contrasting unis from the crowd is a thing with the program, so I'm not sure it's easy to contrast with a Blue Out.  Does the home team have to have a blue top and a choice for the pants' color?  Maybe they'd go with the traditional home uni, or all maize if that is permitted.

Silly. Have a good thing going with Maize outs, but no let’s go with the Uber intimidating and visually striking Blue 🤦‍♂️ Also, the white for the Sparties will stand out in the crowd and make it look like there’s a lot more of them.

Notre Dame does a sort of blue-out now and then at night.  It looks lame.  Their blue is neither bright enough to stand out, nor dark enough to look like a black-out.  And their blue is similar to our blue.

But if there are maize pom poms, a blue-out could work at Michigan Stadium.

The only thing I saw is that maize pom poms are going to be handed to all fans for free at the gate.

But maybe that's not even true.

Agree with the contrasting Pom-poms if we do it. But are we all supposed to wear glow in the dark royal blue so that it looks anything close to that?

Everyone has Maize now. Blue isn’t going to work for a game 9 days from now. Communication to some people still arrives by pony express.
