As our "RIP Coach Mo Miniseries" continues with the countdown's first true star player in a minute, we move to Happy Valley in 1993 — where #37 took crucial part in one of the greatest goal line stands ever...

Thanks WH and enjoy!

Probably my favorite #37 was Jim Smith. Rick Leach’s favorite target, Jim had the first score in a 22 point, second half outburst against OSU in 1976 on a beautiful pitch/end around from about 25 yards out.  He was big and fast.

My tickets just showed up on StubHub a few minutes ago. Found a seller with a conscience and got great seats for a very reasonable price. Will be my first Big House appearance after 50 years of fandom.

One of the few things I've truly enjoyed about aging is that when I'm looking forward to an event (game/visit/holiday/vacation/whatever), time flies and then the moment has arrived. Goes with the age (late 50s). Season opener has been the exception. Feels as if it's taking forever.

Can't remember if it was '95 or '96 but I recall Keith Jackson (parphrasing) how M had an all defensive name team with the likes of Irons, Steele, & Sword on it.  Truly believe that Jackson held Michigan in higher regard than any other program.

Other names on that '95 roster:

Biakabatuka, Floyd, Griese, Hamilton, Hayes, Horn, Howard, Jansen, Ray, Riemersma, Runyan, Toomer, Tuman, &..... Woodson.
