Text of Zach Smith admitting abuse

Uh, guy just said "all I ever did was defend myself". There's more holes in this story every hour.

He doesn't have to wait out the clause, all the clause says is that if he takes another job in sports media, ESPN doesn't have to pay him the rest of his contract. Apparently his lawyer even states that if he were to start "brentmcmurphy.com" that it would be considered sports media and they'd be off the hook. Hence the release via social media instead, where he can continue using all of his contacts but has no financial backing for his stories.

It has to do with their whole defense - which is:

1) AD reported the DV accusations to police

2) Meyer reported them to the AD

3) Police investigated and found no DV

4) Meyer keeps Smith on staff because no proof

5) Smith goes on media outlets and maintains his innocence and says he was fired only because of the distraction it would cause.

If you take out of the equation that he is innocent then this falls apart -- plus and probably more importantly this is going to amp up the outcry to 11

Only thing is how do you know this is for sure from Zach. I’m not defending him or saying he didn’t. But you would need to see actual phone records.

This is the easy part.

1) Brett McMurphy isn’t going to post these with making sure they are real. Otherwise his credibility would be shot

2) If the texts were fake, then Zach Smith or Shelley or whomever would say that text is fake and I never sent it. They would be screaming for all to hear. Their silence tells you all you need to know.

I am not going to doubt that this snippet of texts may be genuine.

What I will doubt is whether a complete and accurate picture of everyone’s credibility, particularly as it pertains to Urban Meyer.

As far as I know, Courtney Smith is selectively showing texts to McMurphy.  Has anyone forensically looked at her phone and all of her texts?

I expect that Courtney Smith has a story to tell.  And that Zach does as well.  And that the way to sort it out is in court-supervised discovery, where all the records are examined and not just the ones selected by Courtney Smith and her favored reporter.

Court-supervised discovery, or an investigation with equivalent powers and access.

I presume that this comment will also be viewed as insufficiently supportive of a domestic abuse victim.  Sorry.

Where do you think the texts came from, dipshit?

Courtney supplied the texts messages.  Can easily supply the phone records to prove who it was sent from. Not that anyone is denying who they were sent from.

HOWEVER, he doesn't necessarily admit to the physical abuse.  He could just say, I was saying "I know" and "I'm sorry" about the lying.  With no other evidence, these texts wouldn't hold up as proof in any kind of trial setting I wouldn't think.

But anyone that denies this dude abused her at this point has their head in the sand.

I love the people who claim it might not be Zack as if this entire reporting job by Brett is so unorganized. I bet he just rushed and sent it out there with his reputation on the line without fact checking it first.

I'm so tired of people that read a headline or a random quote and immediately become morally outraged and are ready to attack the character of anyone that might not share their view or hold the same level of outrage, despite not actually having evidence to base their assumptions on.

"I love the people who claim it might not be Zack".

Guess what?  It might not be Zack.  It might be Zack (There's a good chance it is).  You have no evidence either way.

"I bet he just rushed and sent it out there with his reputation on the line without fact checking it first." That's exactly what YOU did.

Why not wait until you do before telling everyone what you think they're allowed to believe?

What a society we live in.

I’ll tell you what. You believe it isn’t Zack until “Facts” come out

I’ll believe it’s Zack because of the mounting evidence that is against Zack including multiple documented incidents, police reports, loss of his job, pictures, and watching him look like Pinocchio on tv.

But hey please wait for your facts. My question to you will be when the number comes out that it was Zack where and how far will you move the goalpost? Someone cloned his phone like in Power? Someone stole his phone and set the texts? He texted while on ambien?

I've already seen a brainless Buckeye claim that Zack only "passively admitted" to strangling his wife on two occasions via text, because it was in the interest of his kids to do so even though it didn't happen.  You see, Zack is the hero in all of this, along with Urban Meyer...if you put football wins above being civilized.

But hey, Buckeye Nation is attacking Courtney (the real victim) more and more with "facts" that are proven false...I bet you feel like a real man.
