Stubhub fail warning

Submitted by lmgoblue1 on September 23rd, 2022 at 11:53 PM

Hello all. I just want to inform you about an event that occurred tonight. I sold my Maryland tickets or so I thought on September 20th and tonight September 23rd I was notified that my ticket sale was canceled on stubhub. They claimed that they could not validate my barcodes however when I entered the barcodes they listed the exact row section and seat numbers of my tickets. I have sold tickets on StubHub many times over the years and this is my first failure however it cost me a lot of money. Their customer service is less than desirable and I had to research many times to get even a number to call them and when I did they were not helpful whatsoever. I will never use StubHub again and neither should you and I am reporting this to the University of Michigan. Never attend weddings during the fall on Michigan home games. That's the lesson I have learned. Go Blue.

You are NOT the boss of me! Seriously, millions of successful transactions and the whole world is going ti grind ti a halt because YOU had a problem?!

As POTUS is fond of saying… C’mon man!

Does that mean that you're going to get up off your lazy ass and get your own damn food, now?

I know my lawn looks good, but I've never used Uber Eats - mostly because I live so far out in the sticks that their app marks my house with a banjo and nobody will come out here.  Too far off the beaten path, I guess.  So I have no idea how convenient it is...

I've been keeping a close eye on TicketIQ for the upcoming Michigan at Iowa game. I really like that they include any/all fees in the listed prices so when you choose and go to checkout there are no surprises. Haven't used them yet and may still buy local if I can find 5 together (or 3 and 2 piggybacked).

But Stubhub and its many knockoff 3rd party 'we're brokers not ticket seller' sites seem awful to me. So sorry you got turned inside out and got bad customer service OP. CS is one of my personal special interests and I'd be hopping mad.

I am heading  back to A2 for a  Minnesota Hockey  Illinois Football Ohio Bobcat Bball Trifecta weekend. I used Vivid Seats and got my Football tickets the next day. My Hockey tickets are going to wait until two days before the game.

I'm not sure who in the athletic department is releasing/selling them but I am going to be wasting flights and accomodations if the tickets don't come thru.

I'm hoping they don't have similar issues.

Stubhub has not been the same since before the pandemic. Every call seems out-sourced and handled by people who have no clue. It's been very frustrating with Michigan parking passes. I've been selling my season parking pass on there and Stubhub inadvertently converted physical parking passes to barcodes. And it keeps happening. Every time one sells, I have to call Stubhub 3 times until somebody in customer services gets a hold of the buyer and gets them to 'okay' a physical shipment (one that Stubhub has to pay for since it's their mistake). Not fun.

Regarding weddings on football Saturdays,  I used to feel the same. But as I’ve gotten older, my priorities have changed. I cherish every single wedding I’ve attended, even those that didn’t work out in the end.  Those memories are glue that keep strong the bonds of friendship that time and space whittle apart. While I also remember fondly the games I’ve attended, only a few hold a similar place as weddings.

Co-signed.

Actually the weddings I remember most are the bad ones.   Like the time a guy who worked for me got married, outside, in August, when it was 98 degrees with a similar relative humidity.   Everyone was soaked with sweat.   Making this wedding even more fun, and by fun I mean miserable, was the wedding ending at 6:30 at a private country club and the bride’s family refusing to open the bar until 7:30.

Drenched in sweat, too far away to drive anywhere and unable to get anything to drink for an hour and absolutely nothing to do. You talk about pissed off guests…..

You painted quite a picture there. There's nothing like weddings to highlight tendencies to make bad, often emotional decisions. This could be the couple, their parents, or both. It could involve the size of the wedding and numerous other variables (like weather and beverage timing).

I sold the Uconn game and I still have not gotten my money. I keep getting emails that my account to transfer the funds is not correct but I keep checking and it is. They just won't pay me. Not a good first experience with them. Sorry for your bad luck.

When companies grow too big they forget what got them there - customers. Many companies I see failing to keep up with happy customers and happy employees because they become so focused on money and shareholders. It reflects on their sale and they try to climb back out of it. Good for you for putting it out there. Unless it hits their bottom line, the corporate America does not always care...

I blame college football in general. With weddings getting scheduled farther and farther in advance, college football has not adapted. They need to put out schedules, with game times, at least 2 years in advance, preferably 3. That way, I can notify everyone who might conceivably invite me to a wedding (thankfully, fewer and fewer as I get old) so they can avoid any conflict with a game I want to watch or attend. Ideally, I could also notify everyone who might have a funeral I should attend (sadly, more and more as I get old).

Not that this will make you feel better, but this has been a common issue with stubhub this season across all schools with integration between Paciolan (the largest third party ticketing software used in college sports) and stubhub. I work at Purdue and we've had the same issue. If you've already talked to someone at stubhub, I'd reach out to the UofM ticket office and they can reach out to their contact at Stubhub to get your money refunded. We've done this for a handful of customers at Purdue. Sorry you had to experience that this year.

I feel bad for you. We’ve all dealt with ridiculous ticket markets and it’s awful to get burned.

Ive had generally great experiences with Stubhub customer service but I always think it’s going to fall apart until it doesn’t.

I've had amazing experiences with stubhub customer service. Their number was easy to find and the person I spoke with was helpful and resolved my issue I was having with a ticket I bought not being delivered quickly.

Seconding that StubHub’s customer service absolutely sucks. I bought concert tickets through them a few months back and the delivered tickets were not the tickets I selected when making my purchase. Only way I could get a response from them was through Twitter DMs which was slow and obnoxious, and they ultimately did nothing to help me. Never using them again.
