no we will be fine. Ohio State will be doomed.
I think this is the beginning to the end of college football. If it is to dangerous playing under a virus threat, why the hell play at all. Head collisions are a hell of lot more dangerous and college football should be banned! Just start watching and enjoying college soccer. Football is just too damn dangerous to humans.

Head injuries are not contagious and their prevalence is not comparable. Spread is the issue not severity.

Yeah, because soccer players can’t get concussions from constantly hitting the ball with their head.
I am all for player safety, but this is a lazy, stupid, and downright ignorant take.
Does this mean the 100k streak is back on the table?

That streak ended during the Brandon/Hoke years.

Out of control Pandemic that's killed over 150,000 people: lots of smart reasons we shouldn't be doing a sport like football right now.

Such an obvious choice that they are willing to forgo millions of dollars, amirite? Must be as simple as you presented.

OSU fans will be really crying in their beer! This was the year they were suppose to win it all with Fields in his last year and a team many predicted to go to the championship game this season. Boy this is going to put their rabid fans in a stupor.

If students are on campus taking classes, why can’t athletics also occur?
August 10th, 2020 at 3:00 AM ^
Why? Because we cannot have nice things. Have you seen all the college student athletes on twitter Yesterday posting under the hashtag # we want to play. I suppose it will be safer for the players to go to class and party on the weekends, then getting tested daily and being more quarantined as student athletes? Overall, a dumb move to cancel the season without shutting down all these university and keeping the student athletes locked up at home.

If you're still asking that question at this point in time, you obviously either don't want to comprehend the answer, or refuse to. There's really not a good alternative explanation.

Some relatively positive news. There is at least a chance that this things burns itself out. Also thought the info on the IFR falling from 1% in March to .25% today is encouraging.

I know that "doomed" is probably just hyperbole in response to facing more bad news: that one of our top forms of entertainment won't be happening this fall. And I sure don't like it either.
Then I remember a friend from college who died of COVID-19 in late May. He was 57. Went to the hospital, transferred to ICU, and never came out.
He was doomed. We don't get to watch college football until spring.
Perspective.

Interesting tweet from Jay Richardson (ex-OSU Player)
From a parent of the program: "A coach told me "don't buy the narrative. Many kids already had it. This is about a balance of power and money. Many of these schools want a reset".
