That pitch was at least a foot off the plate. Any ump not blind would call that a ball. It constantly amazes me just how unbelievably terrible the umps at this thing are.

We are playing horribly. Batters, pitching, fielding. Everything.

Need to turn this around ASAP. 3 runs isn't insurmountable, but OU will make us pay quickly if we can't get it together.

Because our batters have barely faced any pitchers like theirs all year. The only good pitcher in the Big Ten besides Betsa is Minnesota's and we only played her once and she handled us.

And on the other side, they have the most potent offense remaining. By far. So they are most suited to make us pay for our cold bats

in my nightmare for this game Sidney hits a HR.

We need the OSU thing where they threaten the families or something to make sure ALL the kids in a family stay at the same school.

It's all my fault.  My wife won't get off the fuckin phone even though she knows phone calls during the game is bad luck.  She's been on since the first inning and won't get off.

Just...  What the hell is happening in this game?  Nothing - NOTHING - is going decently.  This game is as close to over as its going to get before its actually over.  Betsa is obvious, but if the bats don't score a couple the next time up, they're done.  Too much going for OK right now...

Not just Betsa.

1 run was 1000% Falk's fault. Horrible decision and fielding error.

And then our bats go down without any fight in the 1st and in the 2nd we have 2 on, nobody out and we can't do anything.

We're losing all around. It's not fair to put this on Betsa

If you are talking about the double steal in the 1st inning its not a horrible decision if the coaches told her to throw it.  The throw was not very good but if the coaches told her to throw it to 2nd than you cant call it a horrible decision on Falk's part.

Obviously the bats havent been clutch and they will need to be if they are going to comeback esp against Parker who is 1st team All American.

Betsa is just off tonight whether that be nerves, back injury, or whatever.  When you hit the batter on the very first pitch thats pretty bad.  Betsa also pitched against OK when they met earlier in the year and only lasted 3 innings and gave up 6 runs.  Michigan also didn't face Parker so this is their first time seeing her.

There is no way in hell they "told her" to throw it. For one, it's a split second decision, for two you don't try throw out someone at second (especially when we aren't good at doing so anyways) when you have a runner sitting 50 feet away from home plate.

The announcers were in complete agreement in that. It was ruled an Error. That literally makes it her fault, not the coaches'.

How you do you know the coaches told her to not throw it?  Maybe with zero outs and things not going well the coaches thought that they could get an out without giving up a run.  I am sure they have talked about a gameplan with 1st and 3rd situations and I am going to guess that Falk looked in the dugout to see what the coaches called.  Maybe they had a play where Abby steps in front to cut the ball off.  From the replay I saw it wasn't a straight double steal because the runner on 3rd didnt go right away when Falk threw.  It was when Falk had the bad throw to 2nd that allowed the runner to go home.  Hence why she got the error.  I also never said it was the coaches fault.  It was a bad throw by Falk and she derseved the error.

Also I am sure if it was a decent throw and got the runner out with the runner holding at third the announcers would have praised Michigan for a great play when things werent going well.

No I don't know. All we know is that Falk made a bad throw that cause the error and allowed the run to score. Only the michigan coaches know what the game plan was there. Also I respect the announcers tremendously. Especially Mendoza for what she is doing for baseball. But they call the game as it unfolds a lot of the time IMO. What if Abby makes a great play and blocks the ball and prevent the run from scoring. What are they saying then?
