Question: The number of Big 10 games Michael Taylor lost as a starting QB for Michigan, which included a 2-0 record vs OSU and a pair of Big 10 titles.
Yes, Brown stunk up the joint in 1987, but Taylor did not play that year. However, for two seasons, he was the starter and led us to 2 Rose Bowls.
The dude made plays and was a winner for us.
I will gladly relive the Michael Taylor experience.

Runs a 4.5 40, was a 3* recruit who grew up running the spread, had offers from the Big 12 and SEC, and has stiil exceeded expectations. Nick Sheridan cannot be Chase Daniel. He wasn't as good as Daniel before and he won't be nearly as good now. But that's not the issue.
I think John Navarre 2001 is a good model for what we can expect from our QBs this year. Of course, Navarre was in a system that catered to his strengths and had a lot of people around him who knew what they were doing and were good at it. On the flipside, this year's offense is more dynamic and features a host of playmakers who will help us out. If Sheridan can limit turnovers and be relatively accurate with his short and intermediate passes, we should avoid disaster and win 7-8 games. I think that's more than enough to convince me that RR will be a big success once he gets his people in at QB.

Leroy Hoard was the RB MVP that year.
And, I stand corrected on when Taylor got hurt. I forgot it was the Minny game.....so also that makes Taylor just 1-0 in starts vs OSU.
I dont want to relive the Demetrius Brown Experience, but have no problem with another Micheal Taylor Experience.

Taylor was the starter for the 1988 and 89 seasons. Brown backed him up in 1988 with Bo giving him the occassional series for fresh legs throughout the year.
Taylor got hurt in the lead up to the 1989 Rose Bowl. Brown started and won the game. But, he could not keep his grades up and flunked out of school heading into the 1989 season. Taylor was the man from Day 1 that year, but got hurt vs ND. Elvis filled in for a few games until Taylor returned and guided us to another Rose Bowl berth. Unfortuneatly, we lost that game--Bo's finale as a coach.
Taylor was 16-4-1 as a starter. 2 losses to top-5 ND teams (the Reggie Ho and Rocket games) and Miami team that ended #2 (brutal comeback in 1988) and the 1990 Rose Bowl. You cant pin those losses on him.
1988 and 1989 are just what I want out of Michigan from a personnel standpoint. A QB who can plays with his arms and feet out of multiple formations and a stable of running backs, all of whom are threats (back then it wasa steady rotation of Boles, Hoard, Bunch, Jefferson) and usually on the field at the same time.
I think we're finally heading back into that direction.

Downside is Demetrious Brown in 1987 (including throwing 7 picks against MSU)
Any way Sheridan/Threet equals that debacle?
