Selection Show Party at Crisler
Doors will open at 5:00 PM.
I went two years ago and it was a blast, hopefully a similar experience tomorrow! I think it's really classy when they show the real-time veiw of the tourney teams and instead of just the team huddling in a conference/locker room somewhere all alone, they're in their arena with their fans right behind them. I'm glad it's something JB agrees with and I hope it continues even when making the tourney becomes the norm for Michigan.
Also, I never would have checked twitter for this information and I'm not sure I would have noticed it as I glossed through the MGoBlue article if I hadn't been looking for it, so I appreciate the heads up.
video. What a great moment for the team. Last possible slot and Michigan got it.
2/4 years in the tournament, with last year being a pretty big disappointing miss...Isn't making the tournament pretty much the norm NOW?
I think it is, this year we're playing with house money, but from here on after I'd like to make the norm making deep runs in the tourney, not just making it. I think we are on the right track in doing so.
should look at a couple of Bracketologies tonight before calling that a date. I am not feeling like I wanted to feel going into selection Sunday. Penn State has made it a little confusing for the committee.
This was a great event two years ago and should be fun again this year! We are pretty solidly in the tournament at this point so I am just looking to avoid that first round of four.
Anyone can go. There will mostly be students, I'd imagine, because of the short notice, but you don't have to be one. The doors open at 5:00, but the show begins at 6:00.
Being a Freshman, I have never experienced a selection before and I was wondering how long it will last because I am sure that the majority of people there (including me) are gonna want to be watching the Fab 5 film at nine!
The show aires from 6-7 on CBS so you'll be well on your way by the time the Fab5 doc is on.
The show starts at 6, and I think is an hour long special. So, it should be over by 7. They like to stretch it out as much as possible. I hope we're not one of the last teams announced again. I've experienced too much of that kind of drama in the last 4 years here.
EDIT: Beaten to it!
MGoBlue press release: http://www.mgoblue.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/031211aaa.html
Hopefully the first time I'll be at one of these shindigs, we'll be seeing if we're a protected seed or not.
Joe Lunardi (one of the most trusted guys out there) has us safely in at this point. I feel like it's a safe bet to attend tomorrow. I'm fairly confident we will avoid the play-in game also! Go blue, tomorrow will be a fun one!
