Schemmy Awards?

Just received the following email from the athletic department for the Schemmy Awards. Guessing this is the Public Football Awards Banquet that takes place at the conclusion of each season, but have they always been called the Schemmys? Admission is $15.

This used to be the Michigan Football Bust at Laurel Manor by the M Club of Greater Detroit.

Last year it was the Michigan Football Awards Show and the trophies presented were called the Schemmies.

It was cool but to be honest I wish they had just kept it a banquet style and maybe held it at a larger venue and less expensive prices. Michigan Basketball’s banquet prices were $60, iirc the Laurel prices were $80?

There is no "they", just the head man.

He wanted it in A2, so it was done.

The Athletic dept. now runs the show; the Detroit UM club still produces the rings that

are handed out.

The Schemmy's sounds like an apt name here.  Definithing.com defines a schemmy as a "soulless event."  I'm only the messinger.
