UCLA is just trolling us now...they don't even want these kids, they just want to stick it to Harbaugh.

#1 Michigan vs. #4 Washington
#2 UCLA vs. #3 Georgia

Winner gets three 5-stars, runner-up gets three "sleeper" 3-stars, 3rd place must roll three open scholarships over to next year, whoever goes 0-2 is forced to take three scholarship punters in the same class and put them all on 4-year scholarships.

Bring it.

Fantastic school, beautiful campus, warm weather, hot girls, and a mediocre coach.

4 positives and 1 negative isn't all that bad, right?

Took a look at our depth chart and realized that he would have to fight for playing time with warrior wolverines. Good luck sir, enjoy mediocrity!

Guys I live in California. LA was nice in the 60s, now not so much. Lots of people leaving.  Good luck to him.

Lots of people leaving? Lots of people coming too. Still a definitely positive population growth in LA (though surrounding areas, OC and Inland Empire, are growing faster). I live in LA and though the city has its drawbacks for sure, it's still a pretty great place to live. I'm also sure most of the critiques you have wouldn't apply to a kid coming to live in Westwood for one year and play football.

Look. I'm not destroying LA. There is a net loss of natural born Americans to places like Texas, etc. The population increase is due to immigrants - illegal and legal. Unfortunately I'm probably going to get promoted to a job LA. Not looking forward to it but it is what it is.

Population increase is due to birth rate; net migration (including both domestic and foreign) has been slightly negative for a little while now.

It would be wrong to infer from this that people on the whole just don't want to be in LA, though. Migration rate is mostly about housing stock -- vacancy rate is extremely tight, housing is expensive, and relatively few new units get built. People can't move in if there's no place to move to.

Note: I say all of this as an LA resident who really likes it here.

No... LA is totally happening right now, especially for millenials, with rapidly gentrifying neighborhoods (Echo Park, Angelino Heights, Glassell Park, etc. etc.) and a big influx of high tech companies on the west side all the way to Santa Monica.  And your statement about "a lot of people leaving" is also ridiculous.  I commute on I-5 every day through the OC, and I'm seeing a ton more of out-of-state license plates during rush hour (especially from Texas). No, traffic patterns are getting worse and the freeways are jammed throughout the LA Basin because we're pretty much at full employment... I'm even seeing "Help Wanted" signs on businesses for the first time in fifteen years; and people are job hopping and getting raises, indicating more bargaining power for labor.  And the real estate market is booming with rising prices, again a symptom of a very healthy economy.  But you're referencing the 1960s, so you must be a retiree on fixed income at this point, or someone who can't afford to retire, hence the naysaying comments.

There's nothing wrong with LA.  It's happening for some people.  I just stated a fact that the area has a net migration loss (of natural born Americans.)  Don't get your panties in a bunch.  Like I said I'm most likely getting promoted there.  Hopefully not but we will persevere if it occurs.

I feel like they have been a thorn in our side for recruits the last few years. And to top it off, Mora is a shit coach, so that makes it suck even more. But, Chicks man !

How UCLA keeps pulling this off astounds me.  I'm sure the campus and the school is fine, but how anyone would look at UCLA's recent past and future and Michigan's and believe the prior is better and brighter than the latter is a major leap.

It's crazy to see how this discussion gets sidetracked talking about whether or not there's a net loss or gain in population for LA. Who gives a f_ck!!!! The point was how does UCLA continue to beat us for players? I know there's a lot to like about LA but we are probably better suited to making NFL players than them. Why isn't that resonating?

Sunny would never have made it thru a Michigan winter. He isn't B1G material and is looking to be in the sun. Have you all ever been to Westwood? Flip flops, shades, cool T-shirt, hot coeds - come on, Sunny ain't no NFL hardnose dude. OL for Michigan wants Pizza Bobs for lunch,

UCLA and Michigan are similar academically. Michigans football program is obviously on the up and up while UCLA is UCLA. He would probably start at Michigan and he'll probably start at UCLA.

The only logical explanation is weather. Miami and UCLA have similar climates.

While he would've given us depth at the position, Odoguw probably wouldn't of started at Michigan. I don't consider this a big loss to UCLA. They can have the Chris Clarks and Odoguw's of the world. Michigan is recruiting and developing players with the best of them, I am definitely not worried about the loss of one guy. I trust Greg Frey. Frey is one of the best, if not the best tackles coach in the country. We will be fine!!!

is he was probably guaranteed playing time. Harbaugh told him you would  have to earn a starting spot. Usually transfer OL position for 1 year don't work out. By the time they learn the offense half the season is over. But who knows may be he would have done well at Michigan. Best of luck to him at UCLA.
