Text messages revealed today show that Christian Dawkins either attempted to or was going to target Michigan basketball assistant Saddi Washington in order to get into business with him. Many other coaches were named on the target list including Tom Izzo, however, it is unknown who exactly is/was in business with Dawkins besides the ones already known

Dawkins is a really sketchy dude.  Who knows which of these coaches actually did questionable things.

FWIW - Dawkins' lawyer previously said Izzo/MSU was one of the only schools that would NOT pay for Bowen.

I have a list of attractive ladies to 'do business with,' if you know what I mean.  Unfortunately I have not actually succeeded in doing business with any of them.

Im not worried at all about Michigan basketball and paying recruits. We don't have the recruiting success indicative of paying recruits

I don't think Saddi would've gotten involved with Dawkins as he knows A) Beilein would kill him and B) being an assistant of Beileins almost guarantees a future promotion to head coach at another program so why ruin that by getting involved with shady Dawkins

Dude. Where’s my OP? Terrible title, check. Terrible description, check. Still have no idea what this thread is about, check. Couldn’t post my sweet Dude Where’s My Car gif on mobile, check.

This is probably all about Bowen. We didn't entertain Bowen much, and his lawyers said MSU refused to pay for Bowen.

We'll see though. Not sure who all Dawkins was involved with in terms of players. Jackson and Poole we're also on the same team as Bowen, so he may have tried to get his hand on them.

Right now, this isnt really evidence against the schools. You can contact anybody. Whether those contacts entertained your dealings is a different story

To clarify: it wouldn't surprise me if he was contacting these coaches and lying about having Poole, Jackson, etc. There's a lot of info already on him lying in his personal life.

The case will truly get interesting when evidence is shown that includes coaches actually trying to make deals with him.

Given what I'm reading from the tweets of this testimony, Dawkins had a specific goal to get players to patronize his business. At times he would pay players, at times coaches (an assistant at Creighton is specifically mentioned as having received money) and at times agents.

So a target list suggests that he wants to spread his net and get as many candidate players as he can. It says nothing about whether or not he actually contacted them or whether they were receptive. Perhaps these were guys he heard were pliable, but perhaps he just went after guys attached to programs putting players in the NBA.

BTW Sean Miller is heavily discussed again and it's amazing that he continues to coach and continues to rope in highly ranked recruiting classes without a sniff from the powers that be.

I think Miller cheats, but you have to apply the same logic and benefit of the doubt to miller as you did in your post above:

The info on Miller shown today was just a conversation Dawkins had with another person - not Miller. Maybe Dawkins lost out on Ayton to a Nike agent or something and lied about to make himself appear better? I don't know. Miller very likely could have took it upon himself, but ultimately that is hearsay right now.

That is highly unlikely. For one, Dawkins is now under oath; if he lied extensively on the wiretap, that can and should be revealed. I have no reason to doubt any of the evidence that has come up. I fully believe that an athlete or athletes from the football team took money, and I have no doubt that he had identified Saddi as a target. But that is literally all the evidence there is right now. There is quite a bit more directly implicating Miller.

If there were wiretaps of a conversation where Dawkins was talking to a third party about Washington funneling money to, say, Moe Wagner, I would absolutely believe it. But there is no such testimony right now.

1. What the guy said yesterday about Michigan football was said under oath

2. What was said about these basketball coaches in wire taps and texts were said under FBI probe, not under oath. This could all be information that isn't quite true. We are dealing with a dude who was arrested for fraud before ($42,000 in Uber bills on 1 credit card of a client).

I really don't think the NCAA can do anything about what an agent said in a private conversation that didn't include Miller, and Arizona would be in a world of trouble if they fired him based on this information and it turned out to be false.

You should read up on Christian Dawkins. You probably would rethink automatically believing him talking about his professional successes in conversations with co workers.
