I don’t think he needs to make excuses the program is in a much better position than when he found it.  Big game narrative be damned. The only thing that I really am not ok with is holding on to dead weight staff memebrs too long, but Jim is old school and doesn’t seem to want to slit his friends throats profesionally...which I can dig.

It's hard to judge Harbaugh too much on his 2015 class considering he had all of 3-4 weeks to put it together after being out of the college game for four years.

Is it somewhat alarming? Yeah, but when you consider how talented the subsequent classes have been, its likely those guys would've been contributing over most remaining fifth year guys anyway.

I meet him twice outside of football. 1). Sitting at the counter at Fingerle's last spring on his phone trying to find someone with a truck to move some drywall. I said he could strap it on top of my vehicle, but he politely declined. 2). He was standing next to me with his younger sister at a few of the booths at the townie street fair before the Art Fair this summer. I said hello again and he actually remembered me from before. I know ..."Cool story Bro"...Good luck Reuben.

2016. It's incredible how much our fortunes, outlook, self-esteem and overall national perception would have changed with a single spot just a few inches the other way.

Can't beat OSU? Gone. Can't win big games? Gone. Big Ten Championship drought? (All respect to Wisconsin) Likely gone. 3rd place in the East jokes? Gone. Playoff berth? Yup. Harbaugh never won nothin'?  Gone.

Somewhat expected. His path to the field wasn’t very clear next year, especially with Uche and Paye taking a stranglehold on the reserve snaps this season and making a strong case for locking down the starting roles at DE next Fall.

Hope he finds success wherever he goes next.
