Risk Day 48 - We’re in the endgame now (THREE TURNS LEFT!)
Dread it, run from it, destiny arrives all the same. And now, it’s here. Or should I say…we are. With a six territory lead, Michigan has earned a spot at the top of the leaderboard with only three turns left.
As an FYI, I have never seen Avengers: Endgame, but from what I was told by our mods last night, it's a must-see classic. Thus, one of them offered the above title and preceding paragraph to begin this recap.
I know what a lot of you are probably thinking..."How the heck did you never see Endgame?" The truth is that I don't have an excuse....
....just like you don't have an excuse to miss any of the three remaining turns! It just takes a few clicks to go to MichiganCFBRisk.com, get your assignment, and plug it into CollegeFootballRisk.com. You only have to do this THREE MORE TIMES to do your part to bring glory unto Wolverine Nation. And, like with Avengers: Endgame (which I will be watching shortly after this ends, along with the other Avengers' movies), I'm guessing that there's going to be an EPIC finish to this.
Just look at where we stand. We have territories scattered throughout the northeast, the west, and one in Florida. Ohio State has a firm foothold in the west again, along with Georgia Tech. Our Nebraska friends basically own the center of the country, while Texas is fighting with TAMU for supremacy in their home state. And you can't forget Chaos, which is firmly planted within the strongholds of the three most powerful teams. This is setting up to be a crazy and unpredictable ending....just like I imagine Avengers: Endgame was.
We saw a dip in participation yesterday, which is not surprising. But we need to do our absolute best to get our numbers as high as possible here at the end. OSU's Puppet Pals have significantly more combined power than us, but we have the benefit of advanced analytics (#TheMichiganDifference) and tight-knit allies (Nebraska and Texas have proven to be AWESOME partners-in-crime). With those edges and your enthusiasm, we might just pull this off. So let's do this Endgame thing (does anybody have a Disney+ Subscription I can borrow???) and LET'S GO BLUE!
Also, DO NOT USE ALTS. We are an honorable people, and we must not let our reputation be (further) tarnished by such an underhanded (and ineffective) tactic. Plus, I'm fairly certain that alts were not part of the Avengers: Endgame plot, and I'm determined to have this Round end as similarly to that movie (that I haven't watched) as possible (seriously...Disney+ Subscription? Anybody?).

Full steam ahead
I just carried out today's assignment ruthlessly and with extreme cruelty, hoping to gain another star for tomorrow's assignment.
Ohio State is perilously close to us in number of players. It would be good to increase the gap for the final few days.
This reminds me of r/place on reddit where all our enemies swooped in at the last minute and changed our logo to "GO BLOE"
Serious question: is the winner just whoever has the most territories on the last day?
I think the formula is
number of territories + (enemies crushed * number driven before you * lamentations of their women*0)
Yes. Unless I'm wrong.
You're not wrong
What’s an ALT?
A second (or more) alternate account.
Just got my 3rd star, so basically, if we lose, it's everyone else's fault.
;)
I've heard people are against recruiting 3 stars, but I welcome you, sir.
Officer Fourstar reporting for duty, sir! Let's close this thing out and put an end to the scarlet and grey scourge!
For several years now, we've lost. All of us. We lost friends. We lost family. We lost a part of ourselves. Today, we have a chance to take it all back. You know your teams, you know your missions. No mistakes. No do-overs. Most of us are going somewhere we know, that doesn't mean we should know what to expect. Be careful. Look out for each other. This is the fight of our lives. And we're going to win. Whatever it takes. Good luck.
Junior officer three star has executed today's order with utmost veracity.
CFB, any update on any of our accounts. We have now all been given open stars. Guessing they think we all have alt accounts but this really sucks because that's not the case. Our group has kept putting in moves, but it doesn't look like any of them are counting. Let me know if there is nothing you can do and we will all just quit
with all the risk 'stars' we have, if we don't finish first this is like bama losing to citadel. we are a super nova compared to all the other teams, but have been spread out and chasing our tails, have consolidated exactly what, 2 territories that are 'safe' with 2 rolls to go?
i'm not the algorithm wizard, but whatever we are/were doing better end up with a super-duper great surprise whiplash bam ending, or we wasted a whole lot of juice.
I was sort of expecting ohio state to not have bad rolls forever, but I wasn't expecting them to get 7 territories in 1 turn. Took 2 from us, and a bunch from wisconsin.
