Recruiting woes?

I am not a voracious consumer of recruiting news.  But, to my great irritation, I'm seeing on my stupid twitter feed, day after day, thrilled pronouncements by tOSU, Notre Dame, PSU, other crap schools about pulling in all-world recruits.

I thought that would be us after making the freaking playoffs.  What gives?  It can't be all NIL; I understand Notre Dame is far more gun shy than we are, but they appear to be having more immediate success.  Maybe we need to exercise patience, which none of us can do.  And, to reiterate, we just made the playoffs.  I thought that would precipitate a revolving door of elites.

Recruiting in the offseason of 2022 is going to have zero effect on the outcome of this season, which will be far more impactful to the recruiting class and recruiting into the future.

Ohio State is going to kick off the season by kicking ND ass. How is that for recruiting momentum.

Michigan is going to end the season beating OSU in their house for a second straight year, and putting their offensive genius coach on the hot seat.

Check back afterwards to see who is recruiting what and where. Bet it looks a bit different.

Recruiting has been disappointing but there are plenty of recruiting threads in which to bitch about it. People are complaining about the whining saying this happens every year. And that's true, but Michigan taking a step up in recruiting through NIL and success on the field doesn't look to be happening since they're being waaaay more cautious on NIL than others and Harbaugh looked to be gone to the NFL for a month or so.

You actually took time out to say something that has literally been disproven already.  We are,"NOT".having recruiting woes.  This horse is dead and the poster that started this crap, only posts about recooked horse crap.  People are talking about OSU recruiting a 2024 recruit already and that's momentum to our woes???  Get a grip.

Just because we had success on the field last year doesn't mean recruits are lining up to come to Michigan.  Everybody has facilities.  Other programs have better NIL programs.  If your goal is to get to the NFL and be just a football player, Michigan isn't a good choice because of the academic requirements.  Times have changed and things are moving away from Michigan ever recouping its spot as a perennial top 10 power.  It makes me sad to say this but it's the reality of our time.

"If your goal is to get to the NFL and be just a football player, Michigan isn't a good choice because of the academic requirements."  Does this contradict itself?  Just amazing the fact that other Universities actually recruit players who guess what,"play school also!"

Michigan has higher academic standards than the school listed in the commentary, for one. That means that the coaching staff must choose their candidates wisely as a result.

This is the same exact mentality they had at agricultural U after their appearance. They also didn't see any uptick. I don't think a single appearance in the playoff is going to make recruits flock to Michigan. We have to make this a habit before we will get the benefit of the doubt that OSU and others have.
