Recent injury situations, Michigan, OSU, Illinois

For Michigan, latest (and I hope very temporary injuries) are Edwards (played a couple plays, then was out for the rest), Schoony (didn't play today), Morris (some sort of leg pain late in the game today).  Various others (Keegan, Jones, Paige) -- not sure of status there.

OSU lost Miyan Williams in today's game.  The tackle where it happened didn't look too bad, but he seemed to suffer a lower-leg injury, and was driven off in a cart.  TreVeyon Henderson was already out, wearing a boot on his foot still today.  Jaxon Smith-Njigba didn't play in the Indiana game.

Illinois lost Chase Brown in today's game.  It didn't look minor, unfortunately for the kid.

There are injuries and then there are key injuries. Our guys have been banged up the past few games. Hoping Mike Morris can return action against the Illini. All us fans can do is hope for the best with our guys.

You have to get Jones some game action if he's healthy.

But it's very possible, even probable, that Barnhart is the starter at RT for the next 3 games.

So him not playing was probably a by product of that.

I said it yesterday...I like Barnhart better at RT anyway, but Jones should go back to the generic #80 jersey that he'd put on and come in as a 6th OL.

Honigford isn't close to the pass or run blocker that Jones is.

Someone stand outside of Schembechler and remind the coaches this is an option. Jones, #80, RRT.

I saw Chase Brown get dinged up with about ten minutes to go, but pretty sure I saw him back in the game unless he got hurt really late when I started watching out game.

"I'm no doctor, but..." (TM)

Brown and Williams seem out. I saw both live, both were VERY ugly.  Brown was done right away, looks like a knee injury, at first I was hoping maybe a hyper extension and he was just scared (because most people aren't comfortable seeing or feeling their body do insane things). But it was clear he was in incredible pain and he couldn't put ANY pressure on it.  At one point a third trainer tried to carry his legs but he grimaced and went off swinging on the shoulders of the other two trainers, only using one leg.  He was definitely emotional.  My heart dropped.

I didn't watch the OSU game, except for one series, the one where Williams got hurt.  His looked ugly, but he tried his hardest to get up and come off the field and he just went down again.  He tried 3 or 4 times to get up and he just couldn't do it. He had to be carted off the field.

Henderson was in street clothes. I didn't watch long enough to see Smith-Njigba on the sideline, but I've long felt he's going to return for the Michigan game and wouldn't play before then.

I think they both sit next week and play versus Michigan. I'd be far less confident about Williams if I was OSU.

OSU is thin at RB behind Williams and Henderson. I don't pay attention to their depth chart with great detail, but the broadcasters made it seem like they have one more scholarship RB (a Dunlap-ish type player), an AJ Henning type WR who can play RB, and a walk-on (i.e., Gash).

They lost their #3 RB, Evan Pryor, before the season started. So Hayden was #4 preseason and has shown good burst. I've been anticipating Hayden playing more in recent weeks as a #2 to Williams or Henderson, when the other has been inactive, but they haden't used Hayden with the first team unit until Saturday. Even one of their walk-on RBs is out for the season. And a former-RB who transferred in as a LB has been moved back to RB, and even *he* was out with injury on Saturday.

I'm pretty sure that most of Michigan's players that have been out, or playing sparingly, over the last couple of games are due to RSV (think cold/flu).  That has been spreading around like gangbusters and I understand it's been going through the campus, too.  Would explain why Paige (among others) was standing around dressed, but not playing.

At least, that's what I hope is going on...

Trouble with all these injury reports is that we’re going to hear nothing from the program. Morris’ health becomes a giant concern if he doesn’t play next week.
i know the coaches come in for a lot of heat in these game threads, but they absolutely deserve whatever they got for leaving morris - or any starters - in that late yesterday. Absolutely no reason for that.

There are some photos of Trevor Keegan in street clothes in the locker room with the "Bussin With the Boys" podcast (Taylor Lewan and Will Compton) as they started a trophy for the Michigan-Nebraska game. The positive from the photos is that Keegan doesn't look like he has any crutches or brace in the photo and is in a squatting position in one of the photos. Hopefully, they are just holding him out for precautionary reasons.
