Recent injury situations, Michigan, OSU, Illinois
For Michigan, latest (and I hope very temporary injuries) are Edwards (played a couple plays, then was out for the rest), Schoony (didn't play today), Morris (some sort of leg pain late in the game today). Various others (Keegan, Jones, Paige) -- not sure of status there.
OSU lost Miyan Williams in today's game. The tackle where it happened didn't look too bad, but he seemed to suffer a lower-leg injury, and was driven off in a cart. TreVeyon Henderson was already out, wearing a boot on his foot still today. Jaxon Smith-Njigba didn't play in the Indiana game.
Illinois lost Chase Brown in today's game. It didn't look minor, unfortunately for the kid.

I dunno, but college football needs full fledged injury reports. There's too much money at stake.

There are injuries and then there are key injuries. Our guys have been banged up the past few games. Hoping Mike Morris can return action against the Illini. All us fans can do is hope for the best with our guys.

Paige was dressed on the sideline all game.
I did not see either Schoonmaker or Keegan so I assume they were not dressed.
I was surprised Trente Jones played in 4Q.

You have to get Jones some game action if he's healthy.
But it's very possible, even probable, that Barnhart is the starter at RT for the next 3 games.
So him not playing was probably a by product of that.
I said it yesterday...I like Barnhart better at RT anyway, but Jones should go back to the generic #80 jersey that he'd put on and come in as a 6th OL.
Honigford isn't close to the pass or run blocker that Jones is.
Someone stand outside of Schembechler and remind the coaches this is an option. Jones, #80, RRT.

Barnhart seems to be a better pass blocker which helps keep JJ from getting hit.
November 13th, 2022 at 11:57 AM ^
We only throw the ball 15 times a game so having a better run blocker is more important.
November 13th, 2022 at 1:30 PM ^
Maybe but losing our QB would a problem and I don’t thing we see much of a drop off in the run blocking.

I have no idea what any of this means but I am for it.
November 13th, 2022 at 8:21 AM ^
Correct, Paige warmed up with the first group as well.
We need him because Moten seems to be like Colson, just no improvement from last year.
That said, Moore is coming into his own.
November 14th, 2022 at 7:00 AM ^
lol sorry Moten and Colson are going to be in NYC for the Heisman. Despite their play and how this site has graded them through 10 weeks of football.

Jones played yesterday with the 2's. So he's back, Barnhart is just the RT of choice right now.

I saw Chase Brown get dinged up with about ten minutes to go, but pretty sure I saw him back in the game unless he got hurt really late when I started watching out game.
November 13th, 2022 at 8:19 AM ^
His injury was in the last minute and it was ugly.
He couldn't put any weight on his knee and had to be carried off the field.
November 13th, 2022 at 8:38 AM ^
His brother is on the team and was apparently in tears. Looked like it could've been a serious injury, but I really hope not for the kid's sake.
November 13th, 2022 at 11:01 AM ^
I agree! But if it was just enough to keep him out for the Michigan game and then he would be 100%, I would be OK with that.

There is video of Chase Brown walking off the field postgame. He has a slight limp, but the injury doesn't look as bad as some are speculating.

"I'm no doctor, but..." (TM)
Brown and Williams seem out. I saw both live, both were VERY ugly. Brown was done right away, looks like a knee injury, at first I was hoping maybe a hyper extension and he was just scared (because most people aren't comfortable seeing or feeling their body do insane things). But it was clear he was in incredible pain and he couldn't put ANY pressure on it. At one point a third trainer tried to carry his legs but he grimaced and went off swinging on the shoulders of the other two trainers, only using one leg. He was definitely emotional. My heart dropped.
I didn't watch the OSU game, except for one series, the one where Williams got hurt. His looked ugly, but he tried his hardest to get up and come off the field and he just went down again. He tried 3 or 4 times to get up and he just couldn't do it. He had to be carted off the field.
Henderson was in street clothes. I didn't watch long enough to see Smith-Njigba on the sideline, but I've long felt he's going to return for the Michigan game and wouldn't play before then.
I think they both sit next week and play versus Michigan. I'd be far less confident about Williams if I was OSU.
OSU is thin at RB behind Williams and Henderson. I don't pay attention to their depth chart with great detail, but the broadcasters made it seem like they have one more scholarship RB (a Dunlap-ish type player), an AJ Henning type WR who can play RB, and a walk-on (i.e., Gash).
November 13th, 2022 at 8:44 AM ^
Top 3 rushers are Williams, Henderson, then a freshman named Dallan Hayden with 357 yards on 73 carries.
After him, it's a WR, stroud, and another WR. The next RB has 66 yards on 10 carries. I expect Hayden to get a lot of run and maybe Henderson to get a few to get his legs under him before The Game.

Thank you.
November 13th, 2022 at 10:47 AM ^
They lost their #3 RB, Evan Pryor, before the season started. So Hayden was #4 preseason and has shown good burst. I've been anticipating Hayden playing more in recent weeks as a #2 to Williams or Henderson, when the other has been inactive, but they haden't used Hayden with the first team unit until Saturday. Even one of their walk-on RBs is out for the season. And a former-RB who transferred in as a LB has been moved back to RB, and even *he* was out with injury on Saturday.
November 13th, 2022 at 10:57 AM ^
It’s fine, Chuck. Hayden will look like a Heisman contender if past OSU backups being called on in The Game is any indication
November 13th, 2022 at 11:01 AM ^
Don't wish injury on anyone--and tend to think OSU will probably have a player of minimum competency waiting at back--but if they're rendered more one-dimensional, we're helped on the line, at linebacker, and at safety, especially if we can double here and there, on D.
November 13th, 2022 at 8:54 AM ^
I'm pretty sure that most of Michigan's players that have been out, or playing sparingly, over the last couple of games are due to RSV (think cold/flu). That has been spreading around like gangbusters and I understand it's been going through the campus, too. Would explain why Paige (among others) was standing around dressed, but not playing.
At least, that's what I hope is going on...

Anyone see reports of injuries to the wrs hands?
November 13th, 2022 at 10:02 AM ^
Trouble with all these injury reports is that we’re going to hear nothing from the program. Morris’ health becomes a giant concern if he doesn’t play next week.
i know the coaches come in for a lot of heat in these game threads, but they absolutely deserve whatever they got for leaving morris - or any starters - in that late yesterday. Absolutely no reason for that.

There are some photos of Trevor Keegan in street clothes in the locker room with the "Bussin With the Boys" podcast (Taylor Lewan and Will Compton) as they started a trophy for the Michigan-Nebraska game. The positive from the photos is that Keegan doesn't look like he has any crutches or brace in the photo and is in a squatting position in one of the photos. Hopefully, they are just holding him out for precautionary reasons.

Very worried about Morris. He got rolled up badly. It did not look good on rewatch.

Hope all the student athletes are 100% for The Game. I’d like to see the best possible game and beat you at full strength.
