New The Athletic piece suggests Harbaugh would accept the Broncos job if offered. Yeah, yeah...same old, same old....

Personally, Harbaugh is going to accept any NFL job if presented an offer. He's got too many options right now. (Broncos, Colts, Texans, Cardinals, Rams?!). This is his chance.

It's time to move on. Accept it. Michigan is going to be fine, and there will be a line of highly qualified candidates knocking on the door for a chance to be the next HC at UofM.

I am 100% of the opinion that this is more related to what punishment the NCAA hands down for this idiotic burger-gate nonsense.  I feel that he would prefer to be at Michigan based on the trajectory that the team is on, however, if he get more than a 1 game suspension while other top tier teams got nothing for far greater infractions he will leave if an NFL offer comes.

I have nothing to base this speculation on other than it seem like something that would sour him on coaching at the university level to the point that he would take any NFL job he could get.

Harbaugh has left so many breadcrumbs suggesting he's waiting for Warde to step up for him, but it appears that isn't happening.

While the NCAA violations are the root of the issue, the actually anger from Jim is that his employer isn't doing a damn thing to stick up for him.

If that turns out to factual, and is why Harbaugh leaves, it would be hard to be upset at Jim for leaving.

I'm at the point now where I think Harbaugh comes back, but I think he ultimately wants to go back to the league.

His caveat is that he does not want to see the foundation he has built here crumble into ruin. He knows where Michigan was before it got here, even if he won't admit it publicly. He knows how damn hard it is to get to where it is now. All it takes is one bad hire and then boom, you're once again lightyears behind OSU, MSU and PSU have overtaken you, and you're going through 7-10 years of trying to build a roster that can catch back up.

My prediction based on flimsy evidence? He won't leave until he has identified a successor on his staff, and once he has, he and said person will work the mechanisms behind the scenes to ensure that there is a seamless transition and Harbaugh can exit the program drama-free, pursue a Lombardi Trophy, and know that the foundation and culture he built at his alma mater is cemented for years to come. So my guess is anywhere between 1-3 years is all we've got left.

Or who knows, Harbaugh may see next year as his last, best chance to win it all at Michigan and if he can't do it next year, it might never happen. So next year might be national title or bust for him, and then regardless of what happens its off to the league.

This guy might be an insider but he is a bit of a smuck too. Dude gets bent out of shape anyone even tries to question him. I don't think he knows anymore than Bacon or Sam Webb.

As I watch the intro for College Game Day and seeing TCU v GA plastered all over the tv, I feel like JH should be thinking “we should be there.”  And that alone should drive him to knock all this stuff off and be all in.

And if the show isn’t bad enough, Saban is on the panel.
