Random thoughts-Friday Open Thread

Sweetest M hat I've seen in years sells out in seconds.

Hoops so sad their latest game can't be found on MGoBlog (I know we're all riding a football high.) I'm in the Juwan must go crowd now.

Your random Friday observations below the jump.

1. Air fryers are a must-have item.  Far superior to microwaves for certain things.  To be clear, everyone should own both.

2.  Should Washington's travel (southeast, west, then southeast) be easier, harder or the same on them as Michigan's travel (west, east, then southwest)?  Seems like the total distance traveled is greater for Washington than for Michigan, but I haven't tried to prove it out.

Another random observation:

Earthquakes are unnerving, even the "small" ones.  There was just a 4.7 in Rancho Cucamonga - it was definitely felt in both Pasadena and the Valley.  Anyone who was at the Rose Bowl missed it by a few days  :-)

(there was a 4.6 quake off Malibu during the Michigan/USC Rose Bowl back in 1979)

This thread turned out way better than I hoped; thanks MGoBloggers!

In Rose Bowl related random news, I bought a few danger dogs from a vendor alongside the hour long line for a shuttle bus back to town, there was no cell reception (surprise!) so I Venmoed her once we were back downtown, and now I'm getting security alerts/password reset attempt notifications from Venmo on a daily basis.  Maybe it was the WiFi at our condo, dunno.

I re-watched the ESPN broadcast with the Alabama radio announcers last night. They were the least enthusiastic crew I've ever heard, even in good Alabama plays. It was bizarre, almost like a transcription readout.

But that's the nice thing about YouTube TV. Because Michigan is part of my library, I get all the different versions of the playoff games automatically saved. Will have a lot of options to keep me busy in the off-season.

I've been doing the Magic 8 ball every day, just like I did before the Ohio State and Alabama games. Will report on results after the game. It's once a day and the question is: Will Michigan Football beat Washington?

Hmmm, random Friday thoughts....

I just spent $45 at Aldi and didn't get that much. Even Aldi isn't a deal for groceries anymore....

I think I'm happier with just the one week between Michigan football games. It seems like we do better when games are every week. Have extra time and we always play more sloppily.

Home ownership is really just waiting for the next thing to break and then getting it fixed.

We might just run the ball a whole lot on Monday. It seems like Blake is back to being Blake, and having Barnhart at guard and Trente playing full time seems to be working.

Losing weight in your 50s is doable if you're willing to take most of the joy out of your life. I don't know how much longer I'll be willing to do that.

Penix might throw the ball fifty times on Monday. My first thought when I found out we were going up against him was that when they are on offense, it might look like Washington State and 1997.

Finally, I will once again be making the sacrifice and not watching live on Monday. I have a hard time dealing with big games and I am also a giant jinx. Though I did watch in 97, way before the years and years of BPONE.

Someone with a better memory will have to answer that, but I'm sure Minter has his own ideas.

I have tons and tons of trust in Minter and Co. to do the right things on the defensive side of the ball. The offensive side.....eh, there's still some BPONE there, even after what most agree was an excellent Rose Bowl gameplan.
