They think they are in the same place Michigan was after 2020, when it seemingly had to choose between 10-wins-great-fit-but-slim-to-no-chances-to-beat-OSU and shot-in-the-dark-almost-certainly-worse-but-maybe?  (Turned out there was a 3rd option - hit on [seemingly] every recruit, build dominant lines on both sides, and use the portal to address any weaknesses - but I didn't see it coming, and I'm not sure if anyone outside the program really did.)

In reality, they're much better off than that, but the fanbase doesn't see it.  They want to do something *now* that will end their pain, and they cannot.

I think that next year's Game might matter more to OSU than this year's did to Michigan.
