5’10 185lb RB out of Wisconsin.

Good last name for a RB.
February 11th, 2020 at 6:06 PM ^
Not for a girlfriend though.
February 10th, 2020 at 7:45 PM ^
Great last name for a running back!
February 10th, 2020 at 9:32 PM ^
Supreme last name for a running back!
February 10th, 2020 at 9:47 PM ^
Tru Wilson has a Supreme last name.
Unfortunately, though, we no longer have Tru Wilson.
Josh Ross also has a Supreme last name, but he's not a running back.

According to the UM player database, there's never been a Michigan player with the last name of Ballard.

Day dreaming...
BUTT and GASH... would have been a dream combo for TV
February 11th, 2020 at 2:03 PM ^
How about this dream combo from West Virginia, ca. ~2007
February 11th, 2020 at 9:03 PM ^
It took me a minute, but I see what you did there...+1

213 carries for 1916 yards and 30 TDs last season
Looks like he also considered walking on at Iowa and Wisconsin.
February 10th, 2020 at 7:57 PM ^
Great first name for a basketball player that saves a season.

February 10th, 2020 at 8:28 PM ^

February 10th, 2020 at 9:00 PM ^
Ya he committed to Air Force.
February 10th, 2020 at 9:20 PM ^

Gaige and Gash, the PWO 1-2 punch

Is this Sam Gash's son? Journeyman NFL FB from the 90s and early 2000s who played for Buffalo, New England, and Baltimore.
Edit:after googling, it is indeed his son.

Got to know the family some when Sam Gash was an Asst. Coach with the Lions a few years back. Great family, very athletic kids -- Isaiah is the 2nd of 5 brothers (I believe it's 5). Some have described Isaiah as the toughest competitor of the boys -- so, not surprised he posted great HS stats.
I'm guessing Isaiah will be an extremely hard-working guy for our RB room. His father Sam made All-Pro as a FB without a single carry in 1999 (!)

Kudos for knowing that. Some of you guys have an incredible amount of football knowledge.
February 11th, 2020 at 8:52 AM ^
Not really a journeyman - one of the best blocking FBs in the NFL, back when that was a thing. Sam was also a RB coach in the NFL for a while after his career ended, so I'm guessing his son will know how to pick up a blitz.

I played HS ball with Sam and was two years ahead of him. As a freshman he was 6ft and about 215lbs of solid muscle. My recollection is that his mom didn't want him to play varsity as a freshman...but he did play and started. Great kid, I think became class president for 2 years. His brother Eric was a year younger and played at UNC. Became the head coach at our HS, now the principal of an elementary school.
The real cool story bro moment-Sam and I are friends on FB, although I haven't logged into my account in about 6 months so maybe he unfriended me.

I just watched his senior season highlights. He’s got terrific lateral movement. It’s tough to tell but it doesn’t look like he’s got top tier speed. I’m pretty surprised he didn’t get a full ride scholarship somewhere. I’d love to know what his 40 speed is.
EDIT: Looks like he clocked a 4.75 40 yard dash, which gets 0 fakes out of 5 if correct.
February 11th, 2020 at 8:57 AM ^
Hmm... a lightly-recruited RB with great lateral movement but slow top-end speed who put up great rushing stats in high school. Remind you of anybody?
February 11th, 2020 at 11:53 AM ^
Hart was lightning in a bottle, and was coached properly... unfortunately Jr. hasn't done the greatest job in coaching the kids.
February 11th, 2020 at 5:59 PM ^
I agree with this 100%. I know he’s a legacy coach but I was hoping for a new coach 2 years ago.
February 10th, 2020 at 8:33 PM ^
If he’s not a 5 star...
...then I welcome him bc apparently 5* RB at UM suck
February 11th, 2020 at 11:57 AM ^
Why is that?
February 10th, 2020 at 8:38 PM ^
One article says we stole him from Sparty.
Gash backed out of a preferred walk-on spot with Michigan State after now-former Spartans head coach Mark Dantonio announced he would not return for the 2020 season.
February 10th, 2020 at 9:19 PM ^
Surely Luke Fickell will get him back.
February 11th, 2020 at 10:41 AM ^
Do you have a link for that article?

Too bad Devin Bush is gone. We could have had Bush meet Gash near the hole.
February 10th, 2020 at 9:50 PM ^
That could possibly be a hairy situation. But it could go smoothly. It will just have to flesh itself out.
February 11th, 2020 at 8:58 AM ^
Does former Lions DT Jerry Ball have a son who's hanging around somewhere?
February 11th, 2020 at 12:00 PM ^
Butt....blocking?
February 11th, 2020 at 8:45 AM ^
Penn State had a DT in the 60's by the name of Steve Smear... Perfect!
February 11th, 2020 at 11:52 AM ^
His dad, Sam Gash, was 6-0/242 when he was drafted out of Penn State. At 5-9/165, Isaiah is a bit behind him in the size category.
February 11th, 2020 at 12:05 PM ^
Hell yeah!
