Well if you read the Mods take on OT, pro sports (and major international sports) get a pass even during football seasons.

World Cup Qualifying is a major international sporting event. While not “on topic,” it certainly has a place to be discussed here.

End of OT season really just means the end of bullshit posts that are off the wall and irrelevant.

It’s weird.  It’s like there’s a large part of the board that likes to talk soccer and enjoys the perspectives of others on this board.

Posts on the USMNT have popped up on the front page as well.

I swear I will never understand the hate-boner people on this board have for soccer.

This weird 3-day-old news post seems like as good a place as any for an impromptu USMNT Snowflake thread.

How very CONCACAF of El Salvador to have a full effing fireworks show for the first 10 minutes of the match.

Couple of nice chances already.

Not excited about Tim Ream but he's one of the few guys that has actual experience playing in a hostile environment like this. So, it makes sense.

Watched the postgame. Abdo is great as always. Gooch was solid. Charlie Davies is awful. Talk talk talk talk and says nothing. And Clint just sits there in silence, also saying nothing.

CBS - here's a production note, you don't have to have played for the USMNT to be able to speak about the USMNT. Maybe invest in some analysts who are able to, i dunno, analyze, provide some interesting thought provoking notes, point out observations that aren't as obvious as "I think everyone played good." - Charlie Davies or "................" - Clint Dempsey.

El Salvador was extremely aggressive, to the point of playing dirty, but the ref was not having an issue with it.  But USA did not look great.  We need to beat Canada and get some momentum going into Honduras.  At least they got a point, but we need to win and qualify comfortably.
