Pryor has arthroscopic knee surgery. Will return for Spring.

Submitted by Wahlberg on
SIAP but saw this on ESPN headlines http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4903542 Basically Pryor had minor knee surgery, not expected to miss any spring practice. Apparently this was bothering him at least for the Rose Bowl, possibly as far back as November. I'm glad he'll be back, I want the team to crush his soul next November, and I don't want OSU to have any excuses.

Pryor best hope his surgeon isn't Dr. Leo Spaceman "Now this is surgery, so don't eat anything before you come in. Because I'll have a big breakfast waiting for you."

the surgery was on his right knee. Pryor claimed to have a partial tear in his left knee before the Rose Bowl. Maybe Pryor just got confused between right and left or the doctor did the surgery on the wrong knee.

After watching Pryor this year I really don't care too much whether he is playing against us or not. I don't think he is all that good. Let him play the next two years and I like our chances.

He's not a great passer, nor is he particularly intelligent. But he's Vince Young Jr in his ability to scramble and pick up first downs at will. If Tressel had any sense at all, he'd call a rollout pass on every play. I just don't understand why OSU hasn't used his strengths as a first resort rather than a last resort.

I agree, and could have made my point clearer. I think he is a great talent in many ways but I don't think Tressel is going to use those talents, at least not from what we have seen so far. If they insist on trying to keep him in a pro-style pocket he isn't going to be the threat he could be otherwise.

I'd rather have Pryor not be in the game against us. This isn't the Cooper-coached OSU team from the '90s anymore that made us look good by choking against us. I'd much rather beat a bad OSU team right now than get drubbed by a good one.

While I don't root for injuries, I'll take a win over a shorthanded OSU and excuses from Buckeyes over an "honorable loss" 100 times out of 100. Besides, we're due for a break on the injury front. In four of the last five years, we've gone into the game with either our starting QB or starting RB (or both) injured.
