Program Alert BTN 7PM: Michigan vs. Syracuse 2013 NCAA Tournament Final 4 Replay followed at 9PM with Final vs Louisville
Relive more of Michigan's tournament run with the victory over Syracuse tonight at 7 on the BTN. Relive Spike's moment of a lifetime at 9.
It was covered in the text of last night's program alert but some things you cannot be over alerted about. Go Blue!!
I still got a little nervous last night when Florida closed the gap in the second half.
I can never watch the Louisville game again. I just get too angry at the officials.
so what you're telling me is watch the syracuse game and then run.
I will watch from the beginning of the Syracuse game until Spike's 17th point vs. Louisville. Then I will turn it off and continue being happy.

I'm so glad BTN is replaying all of these. Just last week I was thinking about trying to find these games online to get pumped for this years tourney. It's perfect watching these right between the end of the regular season and the B1G Tourney.
On a side note, am I the only one that remembered the Florida game as a bigger smack down than it seemed after watching it last night? I think I've been spoiled with this team's offensive efficiency this year, but it seemed like they were throwing up a lot of questionable shots. I'm gonna have to watch the Kansas game somewhere. That's the one I missed rewatching, unfortunately.
I will admit to smirking perhaps a little bit when, a month or so after this game, Siva came out in an interview and acknowledged that he believed that now infamous block to be a clean block and that he wanted to tell Trey that after the game actually.
As someone said though, BTN should get some props for showing these games again - they were all pretty good games and part of a pretty good run, something that I definitely wouldn't mind seeing again sometime hopefully very soon indeed.
but I think the Louisville game is generally regarded as one of the best title games in recent memory. It was a good one, despite the outcome
I have really enjoyed watching these games. The 2012-2013 team is vastly different than the 2013-2014 team; when the point guard is the best offensive player it completely changes the offensive dynamics. I also forgot how good Mitch was in the tournament and how excited I was when he announced his return. I feel like the chemistry is better and the scoring is more balanced this year but the defense is a little worse and the rebounding without McGary is far inferior.
Our defensive rebounding this year is virtually identical to last year: we're rebounding 72.4% of our opponents' misses to 72.2% last year.
We are worse on the offensive glass: this year we're rebounding 27.0% compared to 30.1% last year. So McGary's absence may be felt there.
Defense is where we really miss him, though. This year we're giving up 1.003 points per possession, whereas last year we gave up 0.953.
(I found all these numbers here.)
It really was an amazing run. It's tough to fully appreciate it in the moment because of the nerves. I just hope to replicate that success and finish with a ring this year.
I forgot just how big Albrecht was over the course of the tournament. He made a lot of big threes and gave us steady ballhandling throughout. LeVert also came up big against Syracuse.
then decided that this is all I really wanted to see
)Man, McGary was going to be so dam good this year. I love that mid range jumper. This game is what we would have gotten from him all year.
What a great player.
vs. Syracuse is so much fun to watch. I hope we draw them again at some point in the 2014 tournament.
BTW, isn't that great backwards collapse by the Orange mascot coming up soon? Does anyone know where to find that gif?
Search RIP Otto the Orange
For everyone's enjoyment ((and special thanks to Jordan Morgan for taking that charge):
I think about Burke's "foul" that never was and man, man that sucks.
Every missed call in this game just kills me. Especially that obvious goaltending by Dieng at the very beginning.
It took exactly five possessions for me to get fed up with the officiating in the title game again and turn it off.
We all bitch about B10 reffing but Jesus Christ that game was just fucking atrocious start to finish and mostly in Louisville's favor.
And that's saying something because I was ready to fucking assasinate those refs like fucking Ezio by the end of the game.
And we aren't even at the block yet. God damn.

Still drives me nuts that I'm pretty sure Luke Hancock fouled out with like 5 mins left but they gave the foul to someone else. He went on to hit at least 1 more three and drew McGary's 4th foul I think which sent him to the bench. It was brutal

And as I just got done re-watching it, I REALIZE JUST HOW MUCH I HATE LOUSIVILLE (especially Pitino, but also Hancock, Siva, and the rest of that team. HATE HATE HATE!
...and that's not even considering all the many bad calls.
