Possible 5 star DE transfer: Eyabi Anoma
Anoma has had a tough journey in college so far. He was heavily recruited by Michigan out of high school and ultimately was rated as a 5 star and committed to Bama. As the tweet above states, he's bounced around since then (left Bama at the end of 2018-2019 year, redshirted in 2019 at Houston, left Houston due to violation of team rules, sat out 2020 due to COVID, and then finally landed at UT martin where he had a good year). If he's truly transferring in, that's a huge pickup in terms of just pure talent

Is he eligible this season?

Doubt it. He entered the portal well after the May 1 deadline

College football has a Wild West vibe to it right now, and I feel like we have the perfect rogue cowboy in Harbaugh, I say make whatever appeal is necessary to see if we can get him playing sometime this year.

Even though he is not on Michigan’s online roster just yet, Anoma is a graduate transfer and is immediately eligible, according to a U-M spokesperson.

Biff Poggi connection...this could be the missing piece if he plays this year!

Number 3 overall player to 247 in 2018 and recruited by Greg F'n Mattison.

May he live up to his 5 star potential in time to crush Buckeye dreams.

Shocking. Dude threatened Saban that he was going to go get a gun to settle this when he got kicked off their team for failing drug tests. I’d say everyone deserves a 2nd chance, but this will be his 3rd.

What was his second?

He’s gone to Bama, Houston, UT Martin and now Michigan and Michigan.

He was dismissed from Alabama and kicked off the team in Houston, but your OP sounds much better

He's done some VERY questionable things in the past, so hopefully he had some time to self reflect on what he could have been. The dude was in the same class as Micah Parsons, Justin Fields, and trevor Lawrence. Could be making millions in the NFL right now but instead had to go through several programs. If he's got his act together, I have no problem giving him the chance.

Tough journey, of a five-star....ok. They are treated like rockstars and have very long leashes, not to mention $$$$.

Its being reported that his name is listed as a grad transfer student. So he is with Michigan. This is going to be a project but lets hope he settles down and contributes.

Interesting move. Rolling the dice on high end talent in a position of need versus potential locker room disruption (based on the checkered past). Definitely an opportunity for Mazi, coaches, etc. to work some magic. Hopefully Harbaugh can bring some Chuck Daly magic, circa Dennis Rodman years.

Wait, Michigan cant take portal guys because academics I thought?
Like where this is headed. Open up the flood gates for portal ballers.

He’s a grad transfer, so it’s not so difficult at Michigan like it is with non-grad transfers.

Ah, didnt catch the grad transfer part. Never mind then, was hoping the struggle for portal guys might be improving
