Advice to Tiffany and John... never forget that life is bigger than sports!  This mixed marriage arrangment worked out for my wife and I.

But dammit - the kids HAVE TO BE MICHIGAN FANS!!!!

Yeah - you say stuff like it will work out, blah blah blah but then you say the kids have to be Michigan fans.  You've got a 50-50 shot at that, bucko.  And it's pretty irresponsible bringing children into this world knowing there's a healthy chance they grow up to be buckeye fans.  NOT WORTH IT.  There are many non-buckeye fish in the sea.

That's a great set of snippets on various people's perspective on game-day.

I really miss going to games.  Maybe it's my upbringing in Michigan, but there's something special about a chilly autumn day, being bundled up against the cold, and going to a football game.  I've been to a few games here in Tucson and it's just not the same.

Good little read to get a break from work this morning.

Question for the board.. Does anyone know of any other articles that are similar to this??

Yeah I know I can google around all day to find stories, etc, but it never hurts to ask everyone here first. Some of you might have some things book marked or archived. If you do, please post a link for me. The reason why I ask is because I am trying to get my girlfriend to get more attached to Michigan, she is doing good. But if she could read more things like this that give a more emotional appeal I think it would really help.

Thanks.

If she hasn't been to a game yet, take her. It's a religious experience to feel/see/hear that opening kickoff. I loved Michigan before I attended my first game, but I became a true evangelist afterward.

Have her sign up for this site.  I became a fan through my boyfriend, and he had me read the articles and threads here, and the intelligent content and sense of humor had me hooked. Now I'm the daily reader who updates him on all the latest news and gifs.

I can't imagine being married to a buckeye or a spartan, for that matter.  The only reason I can get away with my ridiculous antics and mood changes on Saturdays is because my wife, a fellow UM grad, gets more depressed and/or excited about the outcome than I do.

That's not to say she's a bigger fan, I just have learned to manage my emotions a little bit better with the help of my friends Mac 12 and Founders.

The article also contains a quote from cheerleader Michael Funkhouser. Curb your enthusiasm, indeed. Does Larry David know about this?

got a great product here. This is the second feature on Gameday rivalry at the Big House this year. The first one obviously featured the Michigan State game but was focused entirely on the game itself. The Game feature offered a Day in the Life preentation with various perspectives both in and outside the stadium. Nice work.

Great article. Thank you for posting. I wonder why someone decided to start the letters right in the middle of a crack on the wall. Unless there is absolutely no room behind Janson for those letters, it seems a poor graphical placement choice.

Reading perspectives of the different generations of those inside and outside of the athletics really sends a shiver down your spine.
