Player perception right now

Submitted by k1400 on November 16th, 2023 at 7:34 PM

How are the players feeling right now?  I hope they know something we don't that makes sense out of the decision.  It's been us against everyone else, we're all gonna fight!  Then we just give up.  Seems like that could take a lot of fight out of you, without a good reason why.

Right now they have to play for each other.  We have to support them however we can.  Loud on November 25.  Slap the Buckeye next to you, if there is one.

I'm not giving up our team. Even without Harbaugh on game day, this team has the talent to beat OSU! I think they will at home and win another B1G championship. Harbaugh will probably want to try the NFL again and I don't blame him for all the shit the NCAA and B1G have thrown on him. Plus, this next year there will probably be new coaching jobs at Chicago, Raiders, and Indy, all teams Harbaugh would love to coach.

This team is dialed in and they are going to do it for their coach. Outcome of this whole thing is horrific, but this team is going to fight. Go Blue!

I'm sure they feel like a week ago the university AD and Regents had their back...and then the day before court they caved. Unless Harbaugh is signed to his extention soon they probably feel like it's the Team VS Everybody including administration.

Keep in mind that Harbaugh is still coaching during the week.

The chip-on-the-shoulder "us against the world" mentality was something Dantonio was able to have considerable success with.   This team has a LOT of upperclassmen experience and seems like a really cohesive unit that celebrates the success of their teammates and are willing to sacrifice personal stats for the greater good of the team.   This is a culture that has been built.  My point being our coaching staff can turn this into an opportunity of sorts and get the players focused AND angry.

Now, I don't think it will matter with Maryland but not having Harbaugh on the sideline against OSU is absolutely a disadvantage.

One week at a time - one game at a time.

Go Blue!!!

My best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with a girl who saw JJ throwing deep balls to Roman (bracketed by Will & Mike) at Glick tonight.

I guess it’s pretty serious.

Harbaugh made it clear.. he didn't want special treatment , he didn't want a popularity contest. He also said he wants all the blame and to leave the kids and rest of the team alone ( who wouldnt rally behind that ) . The narrative " they haven't played anyone + sign gate.. Now add the outside doubt of can they win vs Maryland / Ohio state without their HC. Trust me when I say they are standing on all 10 ready to fight...

+ I love and have all the faith in the captains and the Support staff. go blue

The players seemed to play pretty pissed off against PSU. That was a road game against a damn good defense. How did our boys respond to adversity for the first time all season? They ran the ball down their throats! Jim will have the coaches ready to call the game. I don't think he even needs to say anything to the players, there is already several seasoned leaders on this team. Beating Day with our interim coach will be even sweeter. Jim will sign his extension and make it his personal mission in life to stay at UM and dole out ass whoopings for another decade.

I've thought about this as well. Will this latest development come as a let-down? I dunno.

But when it comes to managing the locker room, I'll give Harbaugh the benefit of the doubt. He's got it.

I'll be cheering for our players to trounce OSU! I think Sherrone will be better to handle both jobs and may be Hart can be assistant OC to help out. I think he will improve on Saturday and the team will rally around for the OSU game.

All their goals are still in front of them. I imagine getting through these next two weeks, beating the snot out of OSU, winning the Big Ten, and playing for it all is the only thing on their minds.

If Harbaugh saw this is getting too much for his team and decided to pull the plug, then that means they probably had a bad week of practice. I can’t see why he would use the “distraction” part for any other reason. Not good all around. Contract extension? Shut up insiders. You know just as much as I do, which is fcking nothing. Sam Webb, JUB, BalASS and Hole. You all are the biggest scammers

I'm 100% confident that the coaches and team have prepared to play this game without Harbaugh on the sidelines all week.  I don't see that this makes any difference at all.

And by the time we get to Ohio week, the team will be comfortable with the routine of practices with and games without JH.

It's far from ideal, but this is a team that has consistently used adversity as fuel for greater accomplishments.  They've got this.  Bet.

Yo this is a comment at best. And I pretty much never weigh in on what's board-worthy.

I appreciate the sentiment, but no way does this deserve to be its own post. Literally just a few short sentences about your feelings followed by "let's cheer on the team."

Totally disagree. They care that their coach is gone and that's it. They're galvanized to play hard, and much much less ready to go negative on their school than many people on this board
