Petition to replace the Cursed MGoBlog Banner

Brian has explained his logic in the current site banner on a recent podcast and, respectfully, I'm pretty sure he's the only one that understands it.

That being said I strongly suspect having a banner showing a penis shaped head wearing sunglasses, licking the corner of their peachfuzz mustache on this fansite is affecting the Mojo of our team.

I propose replacing the above banner with something a bit more swole & wolverine-ish at least for the Wisconsin game as an experiment in positive Mojo.

Please sign below or neg me to oblivion thanks in advance!

How about something that reflects the quality of the content on this site, instead of some PoS that looks like it was scraped from MySpace? This would eliminate:

1. Reminding us of bad things (exasperated Harbaugh)

2. Humans no longer on the team.

3. Dumb pop-culture icons.

Please save the deep philosophical aspects of the Blog to the actual posts and writings of the Blog.  The banner just needs to “focus” on the current M sport for the appropriate season.

Over 11 years on this blog I’ve come to my own conclusion that Brian doesn’t care about his customers opinions. He focuses on providing good content that interests him and is not available elsewhere. This has been a successful strategy that has led to this community for which I’m grateful, so I’m not saying this in a bitter way. I’ve just given up on hoping for changes and improvements to the blog that are not content related. High performing app? Nope. Good, content forward web design? Not happening. Better message board tooling and usability? Don’t hold your breath. Banner that has anything to do with our university? Not a priority.

Sure, they work on these things, but always as a second or third priority to the content, and the results show. Again, it hasn’t hampered the sites success, so more power to him, but I don’t suspect that Brian gives a shit about what others think of his pit bull banner.

Agreed. As a consumer of content, I love that Brian has this mindset. The content here is on another level that all of the other nice looking websites cannot touch. However...

As a small business owner myself, I'm shocked that Brian doesn't put more effort into this website from a best product possible mindset. This website pays his mortgage and the mortgage of others. Providing the best possible experience to keep users engaged is critical. I've seen numerous board members say their interaction has dropped, which hurts business. A mobile app, well designed/functioning/feature rich website should 100% be just as important as the content.

As a web developer, I'm also flabbergasted that some of the UI issues haven't been resolved, given how dead ass simple they are to fix. I'm talking less than 4 hours for me with the one file of this website easy.

I'm also shocked, given the number of members that said they would be willing to contribute to a GoFundMe to improve the website, that a GoFundMe hasn't been started and providing what the people want.

Please keep Pitbull! This banner is the best one since...the last one, I've liked them all, tbh. Also, Jobu, that joke has not aged well. Maybe reference Tom Berenger's bad knees or Wild Thing if you need to bring up Major League.

I believe Brian does these silly banners simply to annoy some people. I could not care less about the banner. Some are nice while others are not. This one is beyond awful, but I don't care. I read this site for the content - not because of how it looks.

I don't pay attention to the banner and most of the time don't even see it.

Make it actual pit bulls .... or pit bulls wearing M gear .... or a black hole signifying BPONE ... i really don't care either way.

Don't really give a chit about the mojo, juju, or other hoodoo voodoo involved.... the banner looks like a$$ in my opinion. It has almost ZERO relevance to THE TEAM... and if you're going to play this type of game, then KEVIN BACON should be on the banner.

Though... in a way, it does mimic the cry for relevance...lol
