That’s unfortunate.
October 6th, 2019 at 10:45 PM ^
The Black Death. Looks like it will be a tequila night for me.
October 6th, 2019 at 10:52 PM ^
Everyone start drinking now!
October 6th, 2019 at 11:08 PM ^
For now, the unfortunate part is the switch from FOX to ABC. Otherwise, the link does not add to the noon versus night game mystery.
October 7th, 2019 at 5:25 AM ^
It is very possible that he was referencing college Gameday and not the game itself. They don’t necessarily do Gameday where they are calling Saturday Night Football from.
October 7th, 2019 at 5:50 AM ^
Yeah, except Chris Fowler sadly no longer hosts College GameDay.
Start Drinking...
October 7th, 2019 at 6:26 AM ^
Alrighty then. What do they say, beer before liquor just extra quicker? Got it.
October 7th, 2019 at 12:35 AM ^
Why? How much harder is it to win a road game at night than in the day?
October 7th, 2019 at 5:16 AM ^
Lots.
October 7th, 2019 at 7:25 AM ^
Got data or is that just your good ol' gut talkin'?
October 7th, 2019 at 8:57 AM ^
username checks out
October 7th, 2019 at 9:17 AM ^
My gut cannot talk.
It would be hilarious though.
October 7th, 2019 at 8:30 AM ^
Thank god we've never had to play @OSU at night then!
October 7th, 2019 at 8:21 AM ^
I think we'd all agree a road game is tougher in college, right? No disagreement there I wouldn't think. A night atmosphere in most of these big time programs is nuts. It doesn't mean you can't win but if home field advantage is a thing it would make sense to also think it's more of a thing in a more extreme atmosphere in said home field.
I get your point though, of course. If this program is what we hoped and thought it could be you have win a game like that.
October 7th, 2019 at 8:29 AM ^
I was talking to Vincent Smith yesterday and mentioned PSU. He said the White Out was absolutely the loudest place he ever played. We were walking right next to one another and he said if we were on the field, we wouldn't be able to hear each other without yelling even being that close. I thought that it was going to be a day game and he said "Great it will be better."
October 7th, 2019 at 8:39 AM ^
Good to hear he's functioning normally after Clowney turned him into a meme
October 7th, 2019 at 8:41 PM ^
It's an unbelievable atmosphere. We better be ready that night.
October 6th, 2019 at 10:08 PM ^
That sucks.
October 6th, 2019 at 10:08 PM ^
Bring it on. Go big or go home. Strap it on and let's find out. Go Blue !!!
October 6th, 2019 at 10:13 PM ^
My wife strapped it on once
It's been hard to sit down ever since
October 7th, 2019 at 9:05 AM ^
You are among friends here. You can be honest. You had Zach Smith order it for you, didn't you.
October 6th, 2019 at 10:17 PM ^
Pretty sure I've read this comment every time we comment on how Michigan fucks itself over with its ridiculously difficult and completely unnecessary schedule.
The game will be an ugly one Mr. Mongo and dont think you're going to like the outcome.....even if the whole team "straps it on".
October 7th, 2019 at 5:57 AM ^
The worst domer game. We should be playing a patsie like Bama adds to their later season schedule. Thanks Warde and Jim. Guess we thought the product would be better by now.
October 6th, 2019 at 10:15 PM ^
Great way for Dylan to make his mark!
October 6th, 2019 at 10:27 PM ^
I like the way you think!
October 6th, 2019 at 10:29 PM ^
Would Harbaugh break loyalty to save the season? On the flip side, Mccaffrey is injury prone as hell. If he goes down, I really fear what could happen to Shea’s confidence if he’s benched. Milton is the most god given talented of the three but way too inexperienced for this stage.
October 6th, 2019 at 10:41 PM ^
While he was forced to go to Kaepernick because Smith’s concussion in the 2012 season with the Niners, he did stick with Kaep, when Smith returned as his team played better so he does have a history of going with the hotter/better QB. Hope McCaffrey is healthy for Illinois and he gives him a chance to take the job.
October 7th, 2019 at 8:04 AM ^
Jim stuck with O'Korn after the monsoon debacle and horrid play vs Indiana and Penn St. Only when it looked possible that we could lose to Rutgers did he pull him for Peters.
In hindsight, and I have been one of the biggest Shea defenders on this board, probably would have been better to not pursue Shea and then stick with Brandon last year. Either he played well and we end with a similar record and he would now be a 3 year starter, or based on how Jim wasn't too high on him in the first place, we could have thrown in Dylan last year and been in a much better spot this year and going forward.
October 7th, 2019 at 10:03 AM ^
From what I heard, O'Korn was the only QB who knew all the kills on the road. Peters wouldn't have been able to play in a hostile environment because the team wouldn't have know the playcalls. Thus, Rutgers was the first game for him to be able to play.
Hope Mccaffrey's learning those now
October 6th, 2019 at 11:02 PM ^
Shea was pulled in the Wisconsin game . . . but then McCaffrey got hurt.
October 7th, 2019 at 1:24 AM ^
That game was over.
October 7th, 2019 at 11:09 AM ^
That's what Illinois is for...
October 6th, 2019 at 10:16 PM ^
I thought this was a fox game, slated for the noon start
October 6th, 2019 at 10:18 PM ^
White out all but guarantees an ugly beat down, if that weren’t the case already. The offense is in no way, shape or form able to perform on that stage. D will hang in there for awhile, but will crack eventually due to the offense’s incompetence.
October 7th, 2019 at 6:36 AM ^
How can our team expect to execute with fans wearing white t-shirts?
October 7th, 2019 at 8:48 PM ^
If you read some of their boards, their fans are salivating and can't wait. It's going to be LOUD, LOUD, and LOUD
October 6th, 2019 at 10:18 PM ^
Sadly, this one’s an auto-loss.
October 6th, 2019 at 10:18 PM ^
I got this one down as a loss, hope I'm wrong
October 6th, 2019 at 10:20 PM ^
Narrator: "he wasn't wrong"
October 6th, 2019 at 10:20 PM ^
Yeah - FOX put out some press release in the last couple days that indicated they will have games at 12 PM and 4 PM on October 19th, and both will be Big XII broadcasts.
So obviously Michigan/Penn State won't fall there. Given that, you have to figure it will be on a Disney network.
ABC does have a requirement to show 1 Pac-12 game in Prime Time every year. They have had zero thus far. Oregon @ Washington on October 19th is an option. But not as good an option given Washington lost yesterday. Arizona State @ Utah on October 19th is also an option, a match-up of current 1-loss teams. But those teams aren't the greatest for ratings.
November 2nd (Oregon @ USC, Utah @ Washington) and November 30th (Notre Dame @ Stanford) are future Saturdays where there are decent Pac-12 games available for ABC to fill that requirement. November 2nd in particular, days where the entire B1G, ACC and Big XII schedules are absent of high-profile games.
Net net: I'd expect this to be announced as an ABC prime-time game tomorrow when the game-times come out. I didn't really expect that 1-2 weeks ago, but the situation looks to have changed a bit.
October 7th, 2019 at 1:15 AM ^
Unless they've changed something this year, the game times won't come out until Tuesday, at the earliest. They're 6-day and 12-day windows. (As of last year, anyway, if they wait for the six-day window, the only options are 12 and 3:30; night games require the 12-day notice).
October 7th, 2019 at 9:21 AM ^
12 days would be Monday, not Tuesday. If we don’t hear today then it can’t be a night game, at least according to what you’re saying.
October 6th, 2019 at 10:27 PM ^
I'm all for the 'big stage' and everything that comes with that, but does anyone else think that the human cliche machines, Fowler & Herbstreit, can be rather grating?
October 6th, 2019 at 10:42 PM ^
I can hear Fowler right now: "and the Nittany Lions are POURING it ON!"
If we win that game it would be by FAR Harbaugh's best win at Michigan. And maybe the best win in his coaching career. Sadly, it probably won't happen that way. We'll be 7.5 point dogs and we'll lose by 21.
October 6th, 2019 at 11:11 PM ^
Pulling the largest upset in CFB history at USC in 2007 still has to be his best win.
October 7th, 2019 at 12:39 AM ^
Yes, this. I forgot about that game.
October 7th, 2019 at 1:37 AM ^
His biggest upset with us has probably been a home win as a 3 pt favorite.
