I had dinner with a hot, hot, hot female friend from high school in Beverly Hills about five years ago and we walked into the bar at the Beverly Hills Wilshire afterward and there was a meeting of local porn stars underway. It took Ron less than five minutes to walk over to my friend and strike up a conversation.

My friend asked him a question, the specificity of which concerned me: "is it true your thing is 9 15/16" inches long"?

He replied "it's only 6", from the floor".

I finished my drink and took a shower (with my hot pal, BTW!).

Milton had a D1 receiver on his team.  He completed around 50% of his passes with a D1 receiver he was throwing to.  If you want to know who that receiver was, go look at Milton’s highlights and all the 50-50 balls he just throws up and the receiver comes down with is his D1 guy.  I can’t remember his name but I believed he signed with a MAC level team.

True but he has something you can't teach. 6ft 6in and can throw a football 70 yards..

As I said in my post Milton was taken by Michigan as a "project" he is the definition of a kid getting recruited by a coaching staff that thinks they can develop him. his HS career Completion was like 56% but his arm and his frame is something you cannot teach... You can take all the 5ft 9 inch QB's with 50 touchdowns a year from HS in the world to find 1 Kyler Murray... But a 6ft 6 inch QB prospect will always be highly regarded as the coaching staff believes they can "fix" his accuracy, Fix his football IQ and ability to read the field.

We all Meme about Harbaugh's inability to be the "QB whisperer" he was supposed to be.. While Milton is exactly the kind of QB that Harbaugh was brought here to Whisper too.. a kid with all the god given talent and the frame to be a Heisman QB but without the intangibles that can be taught.

I still trust Harbaugh and we will see next week if that trust is rightfully placed.

You are definitely correct that Milton was the project qb with a huge upside, but I wouldn’t classify him as the exact qb harbaugh was brought here for.   I’m pretty sure he was brought here to bring in Andrew Luck types and develop them.

And your point? Shea was the next Joe Montana out of high school and that didn’t exactly pan out. Joe seems to wanna be great and works with a chip on his shoulder. I’ll take that out of a self entitled supposed superstar. So sick of the 6-12 and was 50% in high school shit! It’s actually possible to be better at something in your 20’s than in your teens.

Very hot take considering that Joe Milton was hailed as having possible the highest upside of any QB Michigan had recruited in years.

Joe was/is a high risk reward that Georgia had offered... His mechanics coming in were questionable but his arm strength is Pro level and beyond and possibly the strongest arm of any Michigan QB in decades. his accuracy and ability to read was always the issue and those are learning things.

All in All the fact that Joe beat out Dylan is a good sign to me and one I had hoped for. I'm 100% excited to see Milton get his chance next Saturday and after that then we can make hot takes and burn down the system if he's bad because next Saturday really will be a show if were 7-0 going into OSU or if were a 4-4 team without a QB who is doomed to another year of what if's and coaching rumors. But for now I'm on team Milton and on the hype train.

Your missing the point. Georgia, LSU and Oregon all still wanted Milton.. I could care less what Bama that had 3 5 star QB's already on their roster and didn't even take a qb that year wanted.

Milton was a project. that is why alot of teams passed over him. His arm Strength out of HS was called by some to be right up there with the best in the class. His body is built to be an all star. His issue was his completion % was in the 50's. I remember on signing day one analyst saying he had the strongest arm of anyone in the class. He was a very Risk/Reward. either he learns how to read and be accurate or he is a 6'6 guy you can move to another position maybe or he transfers out to a d2 school.

Same like a player like Josh Allen who had the same problems in HS an arm like a cannon but teams didn't like what they saw with him so he ended up at a d2 school and broke all the d2 passing records.

and you hating on Jemarcus Russell? he was 21-4 at LSU and MVP of the Sugar bowl on a team that went 11-2.

And I don't think Cade is a better prospect he was rated lower and had a much lower upside if he turns out good. a 6'6 inch 235lb qb with a cannon arm is how you win Heisman trophies. a 6'1 190lb qb can be good but not in the same way or with anywhere near the same upside.

Next year JJ could start as a Freshman he is the true future of Michigan. but I really think Milton always had the higher upside of the 2 on the roster currently and I hope to see it turn out.

I mean I am rising from the ashes but I'm not that lunatic maizen... my account Harbaughlin got caught up in a ban wave for political threads during the offseason like 6 months ago after being a member for like 5 years with like +2000 points... and after e-mailing and contacting seth never even heard a response about it. so 6 months later making a new account for the new season.

I was never a troll. I'm an actual Michigan Student who loves Michigan. even if I may complain about the coaching staff after we run the ball on 3rd down 7 times in a row then wonder why we lost. Hopefully Gattis has full control of the play calling this year with Milton.

Here is a rule in life...”Never believe you are the ‘Exception’.”   Josh Allen is far and away the exception and not the rule.  There is a 99% chance you aren’t going to the the exception.

I hope to goodness Milton is finally the QB we believed Harbaugh would deliver.  But saying he “might be” because he “could be the crazy outlier” isn’t a good position to take.

See I don't think he has to be a "crazy outlier" Of the qb's starting in the big 10 next week Milton is probably the #3 highest rated QB out of HS... He was borderline top 200 Prospect who was the #8 PRO #20 QB in his class. The QB starting on the other side for Minnesota is a 3 star who barely had D1 offers..

Milton is not some walk on, He was a highly recruited kid with 20+ offers from P5 teams. People seem to act like because he isn't a 5 star top 3 QB in his class we shouldn't be acting like he has a high Ceiling...

This isn’t meant to poke holes in your post Swazi, but ultimates who freaking cares what teams wanted which recruits!  Every team wanted Players like Shea Patterson or Derrick Green.  I don’t care who wanted who, or what their star rating was, I just want Milton to play like the hype we are hearing. I am sick and tired of all the preseason hyperbole that almost never lives up to expectations.

Curious what you think isn't true here.

I created a post weeks prior to the QB transfer news when I noted hearing Chris Balas make some comments about the situation on a (free) podcast.  They were:(from memory)

#1.  Joe Milton clear leader for QB1.

#2  Dylan actually in a battle with Cade to keep the QB2 spot.

The responses ranged from "it's early" to "yeah, but Rivals" and particular doubt was placed on item #2, but what has followed seems to lend credence to what Balas said.

So what then is not true?

Are people here and in the media hyping Milton to the moon?  Yes.  Is it overboard?  Probably.  Is it all based on a lie from the staff to cover up what they know to be huge woes at the QB position? -- (something that will become apparent VERY quickly if true) -- I highly doubt it.

Not saying he is  Russell, but he could end up being another Shane Morris. Crazy arm strength that just can’t put the touch on the ball when needed.

I hope to goodness this isn’t the case. All I want to see is a stud, competent and capable QB.  One that simply makes the throws he should make.  If there is an open receiver 30 yds down the field you should be able to make that thrown 99/100.

Shane Morris?  That's who you came up with?  LOL!!  Pretty sure Milton is already better than Morris ever turned out.  First, Milton actually won the starting job.  If you remember, Shane had it given to him because of injury.  Time will tell if Joe gives it back due to poor performance, but Shane sure as hell did.

Ummm... you do know Joe Milton is 6-11 with 2 INT’s and 1 TD in his entire career at Michigan.  How does that compare to what Shane Morris did?  Exactly what has Joe Milton, outside of drills done in practice, that tell you he is a better QB than Shane Morris?

milton very well maybe an amazing QB, but there is Zero evidence in the field to suggest such.

Russell was a monster at LSU you moron.

Also, he plays like Josh Allen, not Russell...but he's black so if you don't like him and you're drunk you'll say Russell...if you like him, you'll say Cam Newton.

We'll see in a week.

Russell had well-documented work ethic issues and weight issues.  Milton reportedly worked his butt off all offseason with DG and Bell.  Talent + Work Ethic often equals Greatness.  Talent - Work Ethic usually equals Bust.

BigBlue07

Ummm that is very disrespectful to compare him to one of the biggest bust in NFL history before starting his first game. Joe Milton is more athletic than Jamarcus Russell and he has a work ethic somthing that Jamarcus Russell didn’t have. Milton was a project QB this whole board knew that when they took him in the 2018 class. Pep Hamilton said that if they can develop Joe Milton he has the ability to be a future number 1 pick. So if Joe Milton sets the college football world on fire these next couple weeks don’t hop on the bandwagon.
