OTish: tailgating question at pioneer

Submitted by True2Blue on
Sorry if this is a known fact, but, I've been tailgating and going to games for years with an actual ticket into the game. This year I might not be able to make it into the game but I'm asking if every game is shown on the big screen at pioneer if I can't get a ticket in, say for instance tomorrow's game

If you have cash money, you should be able to get a ticket. Walk around from Main and Stadium up to Pauline and back no more than twice and you will find one. If you have less cash money, wait until after the first quarter and you will have negotiating power.

outside The Big House once the game begins?

I would imagine there's a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth for the unfortunate souls who are left outside without a ticket, but then again, I really don't know for sure.  Just a guess, but I'm thinking the anguish is just f****** awful.

Anybody??

I did it once for ND-Michigan post-graduation. Tickets were too expensive and I was with a larger group, so we had trouble finding anything last minute. It was a much more cash-strapped point in my life. Anyway, I ended up going to Cantina because I had a friend who bartended there. Needless to say I got absolutely hammered for next to nothing and got to see a Michigan victory with a crowd of like-minded souls.

tl;dr It wasn't that bad. I'd rather be in Ann Arbor than somewhere else.

I just go on StubHub...find 5 pairs of tickets that I'd absolutely buy or that I want and then just track them up until gametime.

If they start to go up in the week before the game, then I buy the cheapest one...usually they obviously go down with people selling at the last minute.

So I just wait and watch people scoop them up and wait until it gets down to the last 1 or 2 sets then I buy. I've saved $20/ticket for seats in the same section by waiting and watching. But you have to be consistent, because you don't want to lose something that you WANTED to buy.

I'm sure I could get same seats cheaper from a scalper, but this way I control where I'm sitting. If you don't give a shit...just bring cash and a phone. When you approach a scalper just take 2 seconds and get on stubhub and vividseats and see if seats basically the same as yours cost more or less. If it's the same, remember online has fees...so just take what's in front of you if you feel they're worth it.
