I really hope he never gets another coaching job, and I hope he doesn't win that court case, which he won't, because it's asinine.

He was one of the best at getting mediocre to bad play out of supposedly top QB talent. Really I'm suprised PSU isn't making formal complaints to him about the losses his poor nepotism coaching. They'd Atleast have a case.

I saw the name Jay and immediately thought JayBaugh. I can now breathe a sigh of relief. Edit: The more I think about it, JayBaugh would never coach at OSU.

I don't remember the exact circumstances, but CooperLily21/PGB made him look pretty damn stupid on Twitter one time. I know he's engaged with other people and comes back with his tail between his legs more often than not.

If he wants to hire someone from psu then let it be the big redhead. IMO he got screwed over more than any of them. I do not approve of the way he handled the shower incident btw. Neg away if you must but I sort of felt bad the way it all went down on him.

That man will never coach another down of football as long as he lives. With his checkered past, no one from the NFL on down to high school would want the bad press or baggage that came with hiring him.

Besides, what did he ever do at Penn State, coaching wise, that was all that great?

No respect left for this guy. JoePa might have made a mistake and nobody will truly know how much he knew. But the way JayPa went around acting like his dad was the second coming after it was clear that he knew something... Despicable

Jay is the coach that everybody made fun of for generally not being good, and Scott is the fat one in the sport coat who made all the huffy public statements defending his dad.  Right?

JayPa's singular achievement at Penn State was that year he custom-loaded their playbook into NCAA (IIRC) 2005 or 6 for their quarterbacks. And it sort of worked.

Because he didn't seem all that important for just about anything else.

Jay Paterno well, I think he already has to deal with a life time of disappointment and shame because of that whole scandal. No reason to wish bad on him or to find it funny that he doesn't have a job.

He's a douche and needs to find a different line of work other than coaching and something beyond 409 trinket sales.

Sorry, my response was meant for somebody who was making excuses for JayPa.

Wonder how long it took Urbz - or more likely someone else - to decipher what that chicken scratch actually said.  Without the cheat notes I don't think I could have.

If you have an mIive log on I think you can post on Penn live using the same log on.  I use the one from Penn Live to log on to mlive.

I dunno...I sort of feel bad for this guy.  Having been laid off and unemployed in 2009 & 2010 I have alot of empathy for people who can't find work.

Whether or not he is a good coach may be part of the issue but his name isn't helping him either. No clue what he's like as a person but hope he can find some meaningful work at some point.

not regarding his career. He only got the job he had through nepotism. He didn't work his way up and was never considered a good coach. If he wants to continue in coaching, he needs to gain a little humility and go to a lower level. He's out of touch with reality if thinks schools like OSU should be interested.

I have more sympathy for him on a personal level, however poorly he's dealt with his father's legacy.

Step one in finding a job is probably to not mention his father in everything he does.  That letter is ridiculous.  "My father had a lot of respect for you, and so do I."  Who the fuck says something like that?
