OT: UEFA Champions League Draw
The groups for the 2017/18 Champions League were announced today. Should be a really fun group stage this year as several groups appear to have 2-3 clubs that could make it to the knockout round. Group H appears to be especially daunting with Real Madrid, Dortumund, and Tottenham.

The Manchester sides and Liverpool got pretty easy draws.
Celtic got screwed (same group as Barca and Juventus).
Group H will be fun to watch.

I'm seeing Celtic in Group B with Bayern, PSG and Anderlecht

Manchester United have to face an away trip to Moscow, a 5 (+) hour flight, and the Premier League is not noted for taking that into account when scheduling their fixtures. That could very welll mean a Sunday game in England followed by a Tuesday game in Russia. Man City has to go even further into Ukriane.

I just flew Paris to Moscow ... it was only 4 hours, not a tough flight at all

^^ HumbleBrag champion up here!! Just playing, hope you enjoyed your trip!

that's probably because you were going back in time to the 19th Century.

Liverpool got a good draw.
Second year in a row with Real and Dortmund in the same group.
Group H should be interesting, but a tough draw for Tottenham with Alli serving a 3 match ban.

I dunno. Pool is traveling to Moscow and Slovenia in this grouping. Thin squad. Probably tougher than it looks. It'd be nice if Cou decided to play.

lol I guess.
Ask any Liverpool fan which group they wanted to be drawn in when their pot came up and it looked like this:
Group B: Bayern Munich, PSG
Group D: Juventus, Barcelona
Group E: Spartak Moscow, Sevilla
Group G: Monaco, Porto
Group H: Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund

Great. I wish I felt better about how the shitty defense will look after flying on a plane for four or five hours. Sturridge just hurt himself thinking about it.

Group H will have a ton of good game, but group G is really not good. Monaco, Porto, Besiktas and Leipzig as a champions league group? Celtic would love to replace any one of those teams.

Would've loved Juve to be in Group G just to cruise into the knockouts. Either way, Forza Juve!

Liverpool got a helping hand. Tottenham got screwed (lol). Man U got the easiest draw and Man City got an easy draw aside from the travel.
I really only watch/follow Premiere league teams. Messi wouldn't do close to what he has in the PL. Too physical.

lol sureeeeeeee
August 24th, 2017 at 2:41 PM ^
Yeah, completely screwed. Well, they need to man-up and at least come in 2nd, although that will be tough with Dortmund.

we may find out. Barca management can't get out of their own way and he only has one year left on his deal. Rumor is he may rejoin Pep at Man City

Time to root for USMNT's Christian Pulisic and Dortmund?

Arsenal fan?

Somehow, all those FA Cup wins can't erase the misery of this season without UEFA Champions League matches at The Emirates. I'll just have to watch this more often.

Came here to post "lol Tottenham" but it looks like several beat me to it. But I think Anderlecht gets the "most screwed" award for getting drawn with Bayern, PSG, and Celtic. They might legitimately finish group play with 0-3 points.

Curious as to how well Bayern's defense holds up against PSG's attack. The back line looked suspect against Leverkusen last week, but how much of that can be chalked up to Neuer (and Boateng) still being out remains to be seen.
