OT - Truck Tires

Submitted by Dennis on March 21st, 2023 at 4:02 PM

Any pickup owners have recommendations for brand/model of truck tires? I have a 2013 F350 SWL. I do mostly road hauling but occasionally see some mud/snow being in Michigan.

I'm not super concerned about budget, but want something high quality that lasts. I'm thinking BF Goodrich All-terrains, but that's based on what my old man has always liked, so just checking if tech has progressed since the early 2000s.

I currently have Falken Wildpeaks, rain or snow they seem to be doing great, but I’ve only got 25,000 miles on them currently so I’m interested to see how they hold up long term. The reviews long term are great from friends.

My last truck I had I put Cooper Discoverer tires on before I sold the truck. I put 70,000 miles on them, traction was great and they weren’t even close to being worn down. Other people I’ve talked to didn’t have the same success with them that I did though, could be just how they drive though too.

Goodyear Duratracs May be better than KO2s for snow and mud. They last a long time (like 60k miles) and are relatively quite for the first 20k miles or so.

My brother owns a tire shop so for the first time in my message board life, I'm qualified to answer.

He would say Falkens, I would say Duratracs. The difference is that I drive on a lot of gravel and the duratracs don't throw rocks nearly as bad. BF Goodriches are tried and true, nothing wrong with them, but I do think the other two are better all weather tires.

I have the Cooper Discoverer Rugged Trek -on my Sierra and love them!!! Aggressive but still ride smooth and are made to grip well on wet pavement. Night and Day compared to my last tires when it rains which were Nittos.
