OT Tony Posada to Decide This Week

Submitted by touchdown chad henne on

Just following up on a thread I posted earlier...it looks like tackle Tony Posada will announce where he's committing later this week, according to Gainesville Sun writer Ed Aschoff.

That's a very favorable timeframe for Michigan, who is considered a strong leader for him in lieu of a Florida offer, which appears to not have materialized for Tony.

Great get for the class if he goes Blue.

UPDATE: Shoot, fellas, I might have spoke too soon. Scout.com Southeast Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons says the press conference was just a rumor and that nothing official has been announced yet. The waiting continues.

I have read differing opinions on whether he is a Tackle or Guard.  Anyone with better insight than me on where he fits best or where the staff sees him?

That's a good question, I've heard OG more than OT, but he's 6'6" and most of the other guys we're high on are all interior guys (unless you consider Bryant a tackle, but he could go either way as well).  Some of these guys, Bryant and Posada especially, might be told they could play either spot, and where their bodies are at and what our depth chart looks like in two years will determine where they go.

Bring in the talent and let the position shake itself out.

My guess is he will anounce for U of M.  Florida never offered and they took an OT commit last friday from a kid that was rated higher.

i made this prediction on friday but did't feel the need to start a thread.

Florida's loss is our gain. Once Barwis gets ahold of this kid, he will be better. Tony has a frame that you can build upon, and moves well. Im excited for our chances.

over and under how many people comment about 'OT'?

Yeah, Posada would be a great get...the OL is nicely shaping up.  Bryant, Zettel, couple of these others, and it could be awesome.

It's looking more and more like Zettel will be on the defensive side of the ball, and the more OG's we're high on, the more I'm OK with that.

Does anyone else see Chris Rock or Zettel move inside if they both commit (and Zettel plays D)?  We have no DT commits thus far, and we brought in 3 DE's last year, a couple of them pretty highly rated.

OL recruiting has been rolling this year. Hobbi, Fisher, Walsh, Miller, Zettel, Posada, Bryant, and more we are in good positions with. I am also thinking with a good season I think we will have this year, would even more higher rated linemen want to come here!

I am taking a shot at the idea not you, I didn't even realize you were the author in the thread about D Hart until after I posted, I know you by your avatar not your name.

Again, nothing personal against you, just a difference of opinion, I like and agree with the vast majority of what you contribute.
