My oldest son, myself , brother in law and his oldest only live about 75 miles fom New Orleans. So we probably won't have any really good road trip stories

Flew from DET this am to ATL than to Baton Rouge. From Atlanta, there were a bunch of VA athletic administrators who kept telling us to beat va tech and got to watch the whole game Auburn vs. Virginia. Coooolll story brooooo

Considered starting a similar thread at 0800, when I was leaving Chicago in the rain/snow and all amped up. Was thinking something like "Road trip, bitches."

I took a 28 hour train....I joined the 9 foot club in my sleeper car with my train gf. too bad she got off in Memphis..

at noon. Hit the quarter for lunch then went back after dinner. We saw some crazy $hit, literally. Mr. Hankey was in the Quarter with his Santa Clause hat, so he WAS the Xmas Poo.
I was offered sexual favors for my M hat. The girl was cute too. I said, "I wont trade my M hat even for sex with the Mrs." The girl's mouth dropped. Thank God the Mrs didnt hear her.
Later on, it got real crazy when Mrs heard gunshots. I laughed at her and then listened. Yup, she was right. Sounded like a 9mm or a .40S&W. Stepped into Walgreens and the clerk said get out of the Quarter NOW. We ran. We left about 10pm local time, just enough time to get to the hotel by midnight EST to call the kids.
Today we drove up to Gulfport for a walk on the beach. The beach was full of litter. It looked like they filmed an orgy there last night.
Took a tour through the Bayou swamps. That was crazy. Seen a boat in the tree left from Katrina.
We have more peeps sporting M gear than VT and LSU combined. Had dinner with some M fans at the "Corner Bar" on Decater. It was crawling with M fans. We should have a 3 to 1 advantage in the stands come gametime.

Amtrak is good. Even though most people make fun of me when I tell them I rode the train it's better than driving for multiple days.
