OT: Shaq Says He Was "Paid Very Well" at LSU
Well, I'm shocked. Shaquille O'Neal said today that he was "paid very well" while at LSU. I'm not sure if they have any banners from that era, but they're going to have to take them down.

Yes and that was a big reason why he chose that school

True. He's probably getting more than Shaq. Damn inflation.

I can't imagine a player picking a school because they're familiar with the coaching staff due to prior relationships.

His god-father is on staff. His dad player professional ball with his god-father. His family doesn't need the money, if they did he could've played in Austraila where he's from. He's an icon there, all of LSU games are broadcasted there.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic about the degree or the value, but Shaq actually did receive his undergraduate degree from LSU.

if he could have graduated- he would have really made something of himself

When Shaq was at LSU, the football program went 4-7, 5-6, 5-6 and 2-9.
That's money not well spent.

A well-organized pay structure would make it less like the Wild West, which it already is.

Shaq got rich playing in college. Everybody knows that.

I find it hard to believe that a college athlete would accept extra money and benefits. Surely, they must think that the free-of-charge classes and lodging suffice.

Chris Webber would disagree with you.

I'd love this to be the smoking gun, but Shaq was obviously joking around (the part about his son getting a home and two nice cars is a giveaway).
