Try "proud", not prude. I've followed the team to six B10 stadiums, many multiple times. Generally, the fans at these away games are accomidating and ok. Good natured ribbing. Except 2 schools. Michigan State and OSU. In East Lansing and Columbus I have had shit thrown at me, flipped off often, been told I should be killed..... and the clever phrase yelled in my direction 95% of the time is "Fuck Michigan". That's it. They can't come up with anything more clever. Which is fine. I'll be in the shoe this weekend and I will roll my eyes at probably 20 "Fuck Michigan's" before halftime.
Now, I've almost never heard a "Fuck State" said in the direction of a Spartan fan visiting the Bighouse. When my work colleague and Buckeye came to the Bighouse for a game, nobody yelled "Fuck Ohio" in his direction. People gave him a hard time, of course, but it was better than "Fuck OSU". I'm sure there are plenty of UM fans who yell F whoever, but it doesn't come close to comparing the frequency heard in E Lansing + Columbus.
It's a difference in fanbases, one that I am proud of. I dig the execution, it is very cool. Just roll my eyes at what they decided to say.
It's not wussification. It's vulgar and not unique in any way. F*** OSU, wow, clever one guys. I don't think rivalries have to be classy, but this reeks of a Staee or OSU stunt.
lol, wut. Their stats across the board are almost completely equal. With one less game played and 9 less carries Higdon has a slight edge in almost every category. While there's not a single game where Issac was our best running back there's been at least two where you could argue Higdon has been (State, Illinois).
Smith = The only person who should touch the ball in the fourth quarter. Over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
How could anyone take this post as serious, it was clearly tongue-in-cheek / sarcasm. I sometimes chuckle when I see people put a /s tag on what is clear as day sarcasm... As if it needed to be pointed out... apparently it does
r/CFB is one of the best destinations on the Internet. Huge community, intelligent posts and overwhelmingly civil conversations. It's the anti-MLive. Of course, once you start visiting there you realize that 1 of 10 board posts here are simply taken from r/CFB. It's a guarantee anything Harbaugh or Michigan related you see there will be posted here in 12 to 24 hours.
Also, as many users here have pointed out, Reddit has a 1999 feel to it (doesn't bother me but apparently a few MGoBloggers have their panties in a bundle over it). I'd recommend using an app on a mobile device.
This place is turning more into Reddit page 2 every single day. I feel like anything I see on Reddit /CFP when I go to bed at night I'll see here when I wake up in the morning. And now Reddit's front page is leaking..
Lol, don't worry CMU will have a good football team again. Western beat NW by 1 in their first game of the year, clearly just shaking rust as they won every other game by an average of 29 points! Oh, and they are the only FBS team in the nation that hasn't turned the ball over a single time. They may not be world beaters but what they've done so far absolutely lends itself to discussions like OP is having
F Albion, they had it coming. Week preceding the game all they did was talk smack about beating their rival from out east and walling off recruits from talent rich Calhoun county.
My experience is completely different from freelion. I've been to two games there, both were the worst experiences I've had at a college football venue (which includes a visit to the shoe). Walking around campus before hand students were totally cool with never got flack from them. Game starts and both times there were multiple 35 to 55 stupid drunk falling over drink spilling trailer trash threatening to fight random people in maize and blue. The woman in these groups are the worst as they fear no repercussions from talking shit. I think this game will be slightly better and unless state keeps it close or is winning. I believe these folks aren't the diehards that go to every game they are the ones that come out of the woodwork when state has winning teams.
I have two kids and I want to take either of them yet to a Michigan State v Michigan game in East Lansing. They are five and nine, sheltered don't really know curse words, maybe when they're a little older
On Reddit someone had a similar one that I liked better.
BREAKING: The United Nations passes emergency resolution banning the military use of Jabrill Peppers, citing their treaties against proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
Haven't they been reading mgoblog?! Speight is eh, merely serviceable, and only a little bit better than ok. We as Michigan deserve, are entitled to, only 5* first round epic QB's now that we have Jim Harbaugh as coach.
Only if they don't listen to what he says. Desmond is possibly the smartest and best spoken of the former athletes turned tv personality. That's not the homer in me either, C Webb is a taller Joey Galloway but with a better smile
Lol, 'pick himself up off the grass'.. And you'd never coach again tough guy, foregoing millions and millions. But I'm sure your wife will be proud of you when she visits you on your lunch break at Lowes.
I'm waiting for this to become a thing, not his rap but the part of him yelling into the camera and shown on the big screen "who's got it better than us?!" and then 110 thousand people saying "noooobody!"
I've looked but can't find anything, does anyone know if there is video of Jordan addressing the team? I just watched two minutes of Matthew McConaughey giving the Texas Longhorns a motivational speech that made me want to throw up hoping to wash the taste out of my mouth with a little bit of GOAT
He's so tiny but watching him you can see something we haven't had in a running back in a while. Each time he got the ball he picked the right hole made the right cut made the right decision and did it quickly
Simpsons did it. But cool to watch twice. Though, don't understand why vid maker decided to start with the text overlay of 'Detroit'.. Kind of put a sour taste in my mouth for the start. That'd be like a northwestern hype video starting with "Chicago, Illinois." Lol, northwestern with a hype video, I could barely type that with a straight face. The rest is serious awesome though.
Yeah! Why should we appreciate anyone who's been busting their ass in voluntary workouts all summer so your lazy ass has something entertaining to sit and get fat watching every Saturday come fall! Boo these entitled athletes until they make u feel better about ur assumed miserable life by winning a few football games!
Sometimes I'll listen to Rome for a few good laughs. Not with him, at him. He's what, 50 yrs old now? Guy throws out more slang and catch phrases than any tweener I've met.. he tries soooo hard to be cool, so hard.

I'll make the wild speculation that he's already accomplished more in life with that one hand than you have with two.
Btw, you're an asshole.
