OT: Pistons Back in Playoffs For First Time Since 2009

Submitted by BursleyHall82 on

Good news for us Detroit fans. The Pistons beat the Wizards to quality for the playoffs for the first time since 2009.

I'm happy about the Pistons finally being back into the playoffs. Though Andre Drummond's FT shooting may eventually become a bigger issue. We can't play in him in the final minutes of any close game. This bang-a-drum stuff has really been a concern. Andre is a historically terrible FT shooter. It's bad when one of your best players can't be out there during crunch time. He's also about to command a max contract from the Pistons. We're talking maybe 22 or 23 million a year to a player who can't help you down the stretch of a close game. Max money is ideally for players who can be the difference in a close game. We won tonight, but it was disappointing that we had to take Andre out of the game once again. You can tell he even gets down about it. That's my rant for tonight. Go Pistons!!!!

Good win and a great way to get back in the playoffs.  They might even get the 7th seed, which would keep them away from the Cavs (who are scuttling a bit but also don't seem all that focused on the regular season).

I was thinking about the Cavs/Raptors situation. Am I crazy to think the Pistons might match up better with the Cavs than they do with the Raptors? Although the talent in Cleveland is clearly superior, I love the Van Gundy vs Lue (LeBron?) matchup in our favor, and Toronto's guards kind of scare me. Either way, glad to see the Pistons back in the playoffs, and I'm looking forward to their hopefully stealing a couple of games in the first round!

Actually interested in the playoffs this year. Want to see if the Warriors can get it done.

I am glad for the fans. I don't care about basketball really but I know what it is like to have your team winning. My favorite team is gonna make the playoffs and wreck some dreams this year and I am pumped.

Man it feels so good! I remember many nights defending KCP and the pistons on this board against people who clearly never watched the NBA. Vindication!

is a helluva coach. Lost track of the stones since about 2009, but great to see them winning. will watch every playoff game which will be the first NBA I've seen in 7 years.
