OT (for now): ACC & ESPN attempting to claim that GoR contract is "trade secret" and that FSU committed felony by making details public

In our latest installment of "As the 'Nole Turns":

Obviously not affecting us *now*, but this court case sets a significant precedent going forward, for all schools with network deals.

More to come...

We dont want to look like conspiracy people but take a step back and look at these facts. Our coach was suspended for half of a season. The NFL scooped him up without even a second thought about him being a possible cheater? No articles written on how the Chargers have sold their souls to get a cheater. Not a single word about that?? He was a stain on all of football just a few short months ago but now? Now he is fine and dandy?

Kansas basketball was caught by the damn FBI, THE FBI! Nope all good here.

Harbaugh is also so stubborn about the sanctity of the game (a lot like Beilein actually except he is disliked a lot more) he would rather lose every single game then cheat or cut any corners. This isnt a homer take I woudve said the same thing while he was at Stanford or San Fran. The guy has a love affair with the game and doing things the right way. Proof is in the recruiting rankings and how a boat load of cash (which we have) could have you any recruit you want. He could be splitting the NCAA football first round with OSU, Bama, and Georgia if he wanted to.

Anyway rant over it just still blows my mind. Cheeseburgers and having people tape in a stadium with 100,000 smart phones. Oh NCAA you are just the best.

No offense to Franz, and sorry for the tangent, but there is a whole range of language that is seeping into our vernacular that I'm not a fan of including the word cuck.  My boys are 13 and 11, and they get "Andrew Tate"/Incel memes from friends and from YouTube. Sigma, Alpha, Beta, and Simp are the main ones I hear  that bother me.  I guess they are a half step up from when I was that age and F*g or F*gg*t were the common insults, but they are just still creepy/gross and a bad way to think.

Coincidently my super hot neighbor divorced her husband because he wanted to be cuckolded (have some other guy do her and then jump in after.)  Porn and the internet are not real.  99.99% should not be tried at home.

"Coincidently my super hot neighbor divorced her husband because he wanted to be cuckolded"

I'm old enough to be jaded, but I'm still amazed on a near-daily basis at how fucking stupid so many men are.

"Hi Bob, haven't seen you in forever. How are you and that incredibly hot wife of yours these days?"

"Uh, well, uh, she divorced me six months ago."

"What? I thought you guys were solid...what the hell happened?"

"Well, um, I wanted her to do some other guy, with me getting sloppy seconds afterward, and for some reason she wasn't into it."

"You idiot, why in hell would you think she'd want to do that?"

"Well I was on OnlyFans where it looked really cool."

You know why you dont talk politics with drinking and sport buddies? Well my whiskey buddy just started spouting one day about how these "cucks" are weak beta males. I asked for further explanation and boy did I get it. Apparently If you adopt or take in someone else's child you are a cuck. Ugh please folks dont ask for people to give you any political hot takes. It doesnt end well.

This is a bit TL;DR so I'll try to be as succinct as possible.

On a deployment, I was called into the CO's office with the XO and a few others. A wife of one of the Marines had taken a contract out on him. It seems he would take her to bars, they'd bring home a dude and this Marine would watch the other guy have sex with his wife. I guess the wife didn't like that. My Colonel was rattled enough about the behavior that he wanted my opinion (a general medical officer with only a year of surgical internship under my belt) whether this Marine was "safe" to continue deployment in his command. (I made up some shit about spectrum of human behaviors but the guy stayed throughout the tour without incident. I have no idea what happened with his wife and the hit man.)

After I returned from deployment, I was at the officer's club and asked the division psychiatrist his opinion. He basically agreed I'd given reasonable advice. He then said, "By the way. Your Marine is gay. He can't admit it but he's having sex with these other guys by proxy."

Psychiatry man.

M is valuable, but M-OSU may be the most valuable matchup in CFB. It would be a detriment to us, OSU and the Big Ten to leave. But also, F those guys we won the natty after conquering all.

So even tho it's stupid M should totally leave, take the WC schools with us, grab ND and FSU, and heck that's probably enough. 6 game schedule, true champs, 6 OOC games if we want to keep a valuable rivalry with OSU going that will eliminate at least one potential rematch every year.

Maybe take Wisconsin and Iowa too since i thought some insiders might have said they were on our side. And then Minnesota can come too, but only if they behave. Nebraska can go pound corn.

The ACC is run by some Tony Pettiti-level idiots but it's sort of funny to see them try to act tough with a team that is trying to leave them.  It's one thing to whine when you know a school isn't going anywhere - UM isn't leaving the conference no matter how much the B1G fucks with them.  But FSU wants to leave so much they're trying to raise half a billion to do it.  You aren't going to scare them with a lawsuit about trade secrets.

Funny how we are on equal footing as a program with Nebraska, Penn st, and to a lesser extent Iowa and Wisconsin but these teams cant see what is really keeping them down. It isnt UM over achieving with their power run game and fantastic defense. It is OSU out recruiting PSU, Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Minny, Illinois all combined. OSU brings in more talent then all those schools combined.

We would be a very competitive league if OSU wasnt buying talent better than the entire conference combined. If the Big Ten stopped being OSUs bitch there might actually be some parity. Its like they are ok with being dominated by OSU but nobody else better take that role.

A trade secret for ESPN, or the ACC? I'm not a lawyer so I don't know how much standing this has in court. But on the surface, it seems like the other networks would have similar deals in place with other conferences, so I don't know how much of a trade secret this actually is. Unless, of course, ESPN's fuckery of the ACC is unlike anything ever seen in deals like this, and FSU knows it.

The four-letter network is either ignorant or naive, and it's why their programming and network have turned to shit.  But in negotiations, when more than one person knows all the details, someone will talk.  Good negotiators know how to work a deal, and great negotiators know how to find the people who will speak if given proper motivation.  There's a better chance that Fox Sports and NBC have copies of all of ESPN's agreements before they were even signed than them being a "trade secret."

This and the previous post on the NCAA Committee on Infractions inspired me to do some serious research -- I watched the trailer to the movie Mean Girls to see if it might shed some light on NCAA governance. I can't report anything useful, but I still think there may be some parallels.
