OT: New Orleans for the next two nights: Suggestions?
You guys have never done me wrong. In New Orleans until Saturday afternoon for a Federal Defender conference. Where do I "have" to go? Looking for traditional New Olreans food, and cool live music spots.
Went to Parasol's for PoBoys for lunch today in the Garden Distict. Cool dive bar with good food.
Also, big fan of breweries if you have suggestions for that.
Thanks in advance!
For cheap I agree with Acme Oyster Bar
For pricey I‘d go to Antone‘s, definitely a bucket list destination
I would stop by Cafe du Monde on the river for chicory coffee and beignets in either case.
Have fun! Definitely a five senses experience, Crescent City!!
As others have noted.. Cafe du Monde for morning coffee.. simply a must do…
Hopefully not too late: For a brewery, check out Zony Mash. Great stuff. For another great experience, check out Turkey and the Wolf, a sandwich shop.
It’s been a few years, and I hate crowds, so take this advice as worth what you’ve paid for it. Crescent City Brewery was great (nice, relaxed vibe when I was there), best oysters I had while I was there. And Beckham’s bookshop on Decatur was a cool place to visit.
High Octane Hurricanes......Your welcome!
hookers hookers hookers
that's my recommendation
I'd go to Willie Mae's for some baked chicken, and see some live music on Frenchmen St.
Breakfast at the Ruby Slipper!!
Of course Cafe DuMond,Felix’s oyster house,Deanies and Elizabeth’s in the 7th ward for breakfast and bloody marys
Native Ann Arborite who has been in Nola for 18 years here. I have a long email of things to do and tips for visitors. I'm happy to send it to you if you'd like. I also have a smaller version of it in Google Maps form here: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1qSOdqQZ410Pji7HxJw_rNxk2vqI&ll=29.95824602693513%2C-90.0991639515099&z=13
A few notes: (1) Willie Mae's Scotch House had a fire and is closed. (2) the "Willie Mae's" that is in the French Quarter is a phony attempt by someone to take the name and sell bad chicken. (3) I suggest checking out WWOZ's "Takin' It To The Streets" to see if there are any big parades while you are in town. If you like WWII, the museum is huge and the best military museum I've ever been to.
Oysters. Anyplace in NOLA.
Carousel Bar, Cafe DuMonde for beignets, Frenchman Street for good live music, Jackson Park.
