OT - Nassar confronted in court

Submitted by Hard-Baughlls on

I saw this article on CNN. Must be nice for the accusers to be able to finally confront Nassar without fear or shame and have him finally feel powerless.  I've fortunately never been in such a situation, but could only imagine the vindication these victims must feel by finally having the truth come out and being able to confront this guy face to face and make him squirm.

I'm sure he'll suffer plenty in prison, given his status as a sex predator, and I also hope this type of forum, where victims can confront him, gives them some psychological relief from his crimes.

Edit:  Obviously a lot of anger and opinions about what a shithead this guy is in the thread and all are valid and fair points.  My original post above was meant to showcase how it's great that the actual victims get to individually tell this guy what piece of scum he is to his face one after the next, and not only hopefully give themselves some reprieve, but just badger him for days over and over so he never forgets what a shameful disgusting person he is as he rots in prison.

The comments on here are merely from people observing this monster...imagine the vitriol and spite he is eating as each victim goes up there and tells the coward what a piece of shit he is.....sleep well in jail with that on your mind Nassar.

And what they are alleging is breathtakingly wrong. They knew and had the opportunity to make the situation better, and they did precisely nothing. USGA - Shut up and listen - you are not calling the shots any more. You are about to be sued into oblivion, And it will be well deserved.

They asked the AG to conduct an investigation becuase they think the findings are exaggerated and that it will exonerate MSU and Simon.  They are worse than PSU.

Who the F&%$*! is paying for this!!!  I want to see MSU donors and Alumni foot this bill, not Michigan Taxpayers.  F&%*! that pile of garbage for a school, everyone of it's moronic alumni, and all it stands for.

I imagine this would be difficult as they are essentially the top of the food chain in the University organizational structure - the President reports to THEM. However, they are elected officials by the residents of the state of Michigan so there is a way to get rid of them - vote them out the next time they are up for election. Not sure if they are subject to a recall but if someone wanted to start a petition I'm guessing you could gather the required # of signatures.

And uncle to a niece who was sexually assaulted by an athlete at the University of Michigan some years back while she was a student there. My niece didn’t tell her father about it because she feared that she would unleash some kind of retribution circus. I get it.

I really hope that what comes of this is something bigger than someone’s glee at the thought of some guy getting shanked in prison, or worse. I hope that people can really question where they have been while all this was going on, in a social sense. Seems to me that there are a whole lot of people, especially men, who get all jacked up whenever rape culture and misogyny become so apparent publicly as with something like this. Question we should ask ourselves is just what we’re going to do moving forward to change this culture of misogyny that so obviously exists.

Clearly no amount of calls for resignations will do the trick with the trustees and the president. I saw the student government called for her resignation but where the heck are the faculty and alumni association?

The students should call a strike and ask the faculty, unions and alumni association to support them. Force the groups that matter to pick a position and quit releasing BS statements. While they are at it call for the sports teams to join as well. I suspect Izzo and other coaches don’t want to be fielding questions about why they are not supporting sexual assault victims. If they shut the place down for a day or two the president and the trustees would be gone.

We petitioned to get Brandon and Hoke fired for concussion-gate, and deservedly so in my opinion as as it showed cracks in leadership, protocol, accountability and competence. Eventually, the adminsitration and powers that be listened and acted, on what was obviously much lesser circumstance (more of a folly than systematic coverup).

This monster molested hundreds of girls using MSU as cover and the students at MSU are not being heard for whatever reason.  This is disgusting.  While PSU fans were delulional Joe-hadist Paterno apologists in aggregate, it seems the MSU student body is pleading for their university to do the right thing here, which they apparently refuse to do by hiding behind lawyers.
