OT: MLB All Star Game/Joe Buck drinking game/Tuesday night drinking thread

Submitted by ckersh74 on

The Joe Buck drinking game is simple. Every time he acts like a douche, take a drink. We'll all be dead by the bottom of the 2nd.

Take Me Out To The Ball Game replaced by God Bless America? Not This Land Is Your Land if anything? Military flyover?

This country is so far gone and so lost... & it will show in the reaction I get I'm sure...

I agree with you that Take Me Out To The Ball Game is what they should be playing, but to say this country is lost because they chose to sing a particular song at a baseball game is a stretch.

I think you're watching too much cable news...lots of hyperbole, sensationalism, and illogical extrapolation.

No, I'm not extrapolating anything, I'm keenly observing the entire scene that enough of you are sleeping through so as to let it happen. I'm taking it in context. I'm understanding the reasons behind it and it's purpose along with a plethora of similar signs. I can spell it out in very precise detail but it would take many long posts that wouldn't be tolerated even though they are crucial and more important than anything else posted here. Which is yet another sign and symptom of the problems.

The reality, the reality you DON'T get on mainstream corporate news, cable or otherwise, is far worse than the hyperbole you're talking about, which is misdirection from the real crises we face.

What a stupid comment. It is objectively and factually doing so. I say it because I'm paying attention and I'm far more informed than 95% or more of the people. That's not bragging or arrogance anymore than a math professor saying he knows more about math than most people. It's just a fact that I consume more information about about what's going on than almost everyone else, whch isn't hard to do at all given the disinterest and discouragement of interest in paying attention to what's happening in this society and the world.

The fact that you don't know how bad things are and are going, and throw out a meaningless comment like that because you have no clue what's happening & think you can dismiss any and all such statements as if none of them are true and they are all the same regardless of what the person actually means or whether what they think is true or not exemplifies the ignorance and self destructive in-curiosity that has allowed things to go probably beyond all the important tipping points.

I mean, that you think that way is mostly likely something that's been done TO you, which is certainly a major part of the strategy, but Jesus, you're such a willing participant!

I watch the Cards on FSMW all the time, and I find McCarver much more tolerable without Buck in the booth with him. Still not good, but not as bad.

Side note: I don't understand the hatred for Harold Reynolds. Sure, he's not the most brilliant commentator out there, but he's pretty entertaining. Let's face it: there aren't many good color guys out there. HR is one of the better ones by default.
